... the birds are singing, we just passed a lollop (Jean says the correct collective noun for Manatees is "aggregation" but I prefer "lollop") of about 14 Manatees (Ken's numbers not mine), the bridges are opening for us, and everything is perfect in Paradise. The Port engine just packed up, but hey, who's being picky?

First we wake up. Then the stressful decisions begin. A beach walk or a bike ride? Hang out at the Beach or Pool? Maple bacon donut or key lime pie donut? Then there's lunch menu to decide. Then is it the Barefoot Tiki Bar or the Bridge Tender Tiki Bar? Or Martinis on the deck! Or by the pool? Or Margaritas? Then in for dinner or out for dinner? Who cooks? Which restaurant? ... again we are sitting at a downtown marina with a terrific view of the city. There is art everywhere in Sarasota. This includes museums, outdoor sculptures, parks, theaters (the kind that feature plays and musicals although they have movie theaters, too.) The opera house is just across the street and hosts several operas a week. There is fabulous shopping if that is your kind of thing but it is all very haute couture and expensive. ... Rick and Tina and also a visit from our Swedish/American friends Leif and Barbro who are flying in from San Francisco. Let's hope the weather stays warm!
In the meantime we're playing tennis and walking everyday, sometimes on the beach but also to Saint Armand's Circle and Downtown over the bridge. It's not easy to be in Limbo but we try to keep busy. Here are a few photos from the weeks past.
