      ... death. It showed us that the pop life was not great joy - it could change a person's life. The Spy Museum was good for the last day. It was cool when we got to try to be secret agents. We had a great time in Washington DC. I would definitely do it again.

      Today is Remembrance day, they call it Veteran's Day here, and we're off to Gettysburg. Because its Veteran's Day a unique exhibit containing a number of weapons that were used during the battle was displayed. This only happens once a year, on this special day.       ... speech, the 50th Anniversary of which is this Wednesday and we are planning to attend to see no less than three presidents speak (Carter, Clinton and then Obama) as well as MLK’s son, sister and many other luminaries including Oprah!

      From there we visited the memorials to Martin Luther King, Franklin D. Roosevelt, & Thomas Jefferson before making it back to home. A whole day of walking and we were ready for a rest.

      May 7th Arrived yesterday afternoon on the new Virgin Airbus - good journey as Mike bought extra legroom for £30 - well worth it. Woke up very early but felt ok with no jet lag, so set off on our walking tour of DC. First bought an 2 umbrellas as it was pouring with rain! Then took the Circulator Bus from Holiday Inn, Georgetown. This is one of the upmarket areas of Washington, leafy and green with good shops etc got off at Union Station ...
