My sandals pack easier than my shoes, but in these hot countries sandals are preferential to shoes unless you are going to a chilly mountain top or a club/restaurant where sandals just aren't appropriate attire. With a month in the soaring heat of Cambodia next on our itinerary, I am tempted to throw out the shoes and just depend on sandals until I need a pair of shoes again. I suspect that won't be until we reach the northern parts of Vietnam nearly two months from now.
