    ... Mercer away from Turtle and his Loon Party. No camping tonight. Maura and I were lucky to score a room at the Great Northern Motel since the town was crammed with bikers and fishermen for the weekend. My long, hot shower washed away the bugs and rejuvenated me in time to relax with Maura in the hotel's grand sun room. Our view overlooked one of Mercer's many loony lakes.

    ... country, so of course I had to visit Three Lakes Winery and get a few bottles of cranberry wine! Also one day we'll spend on the farm in the UP collecting apples for deer season. I made an apple pie today from apples off the 100 year old apple tree. It was delicious. Needless to say, I love it here. Enjoy the pictures. The best is yet to ...

    Chuck wanted to see his Uncle Ron and he was going to be at his cabin on Lake Muskelunge. We had no idea where it was or the address but we used the iPad and drove around until we found a sign by the road. So, we surprised them. Had a great Wisconsin dinner with Brats, burgers and fresh apple pie. It was great to see them!
