Off for Half-term to the coast!
First real venture out of Bangkok and a short flight to Phuket and then north for 45 mins onto the main land and to the town of Khao Lak.

... business. It's very calming. A little more shopping, back to the mini mart for the staples...beer and chocolate....then back down to the pool for a dip. We sat on the balcony and watched the fireworks, which have been happening every night since we got here, had a drink or two before heading down to dinner and back to the room by 10pm. What a fabulous day! And I only cried 3 times all day! Getting a little teary about leaving, but am also looking forward to going home....just a bit ...
... for dinner. Fresh seafood was our choice and we meticulously chose 2 large lobsters from the ice to be BBQ'd and served with garlic and pepper sauce. Now don't get excited because it was a huge disappointment. Overcooked, dry and lacking in flavour! I suppose we chose the wrong restaurant, remember the name Mamas. Don't go there.

Trekking outdoors in the middle of the night enveloped by cold is not much fun, nor is living amongst dust, dirt, mess and disorganisation. Plaster dust is a very resilient substance that finds it's way into just about every existing and non existing space there is and I am sure it will take months to eradicate.
