Historical Traveler Reviews of The Royal Caribbean Cancun
Fantastic

I have stayed at the Royal Caribbean twice - once in 1997 and again in 1999. Both times we had a great experience. The place is very well kept. The views wonderful and the staff as nice as could be.The first time we went was the third week of August. Very hot and humid that time. The second time we went to Cancun we went at the end of September and the weather was picture perfect. The resort is a very nice place for those of you with children. Every child I saw and spoke with was having a great time. We have stayed in three other hotels/timeshares in Cancun when we were there and none can compare to the Royals.
Ice cold pool!
from devamailtrip
Why does no one mention the ice cold pool water??? I was there the second week of December and the unheated pool was so cold, I never saw anyone in it the whole week I was there! Management said it was too expensive to heat the pool... too bad, because I was disappointed not to be able to swim. The water is often very rough here- warning flags were up the whole week, so a had a very dry vacation. On the other hand- the staff were very pleasant, and the pressure for timeshare presentations was fairly minimal. I like all the activities planned, and the karaoke scene was a blast. Our room looking out on the ocean was pleasant, but not luxurious.
A Disney Expierence at The Royal Caribbean-Cancun

Our second visit and we cannot wait to return. The entire resort is so well groomed and maintained that you can hardly find anything out of place, yet you get the feeling that they want you to use it all. This is a place that even Disney could take some lessons. One week is only a start, two week stay is at least a must...We will be back..
Wonderful Place

My husband and I just returned from the Royal Carribean and it was wonderful. I would highly recommend it. The staff was so friendly, the rooms were enormous (we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with kitchen), the grounds were very clean, and the food wasn't too expensive. There was an enormous pool, and the beach was very nice as well.
I was nervous about going to Mexico, and getting sick, but had no problem at all. The water was filtered, and the food was good too.
If you like large hotels (which I do), and flexibility to cook in the room, then the Royal Carribean is great. And the fun part about the Royal Resorts is that they are connected, next to each other. You are free to roam and use the restaurants at the other resorts.
I would definately go back.
Royal resorts are top of the list

We have been timeshare owners at the Royal Carribean now for 15 years.
Of the hundreds of places we have visited in the world, we still rate the Royal Carribean and their sister hotels, the Mayan and the Islander in Cancun at the top of the list. The staff are unbeatable, food is always great, the security within the resort is un-noticeable yet tight and the whole experience always leaves us with the feeling that we could have stayed longer each time. We have never had a bad experience.
A Slice of Heaven!!

We stayed in a ground level villa right on the beach. You couldn't get any closer to the sand. It was unbelievable. We loved it!!
Fabulous Family Resort

First time in Cancun and we stayed at the Royal Caribbean. We really enjoyed the resort. We had a two bedroom villa that was extremely clean and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and the pool area and pool bar is magnificent. We were well treated by staff and the food was very good. They have many activities for the kids and grownups to take advantage of. We enjoyed the ceramic painting and the pool bar area. My only observations in making this an Excellant review is that I would have liked movie rentals and a VCR/DVD in the room. The decor and furnishings were appropiate and clean, just not as fancy as we've seen in other five star resorts. We would not hesitate to return to the Royal Caribbean.
The Best Resort...The Royal Caribbean

Our experience in Cancun at the Royal Caribbean was the best. This was the best resort we have ever stayed at. Our 2-bedroom villa was excellent, it wasn't beachfront, but it had the perfect view of the beach. The Royal Caribbean has everyting you need. Daily room-service, big balcony, nice furniter, NICE pools, you name it. Its been our best vacation. Highly Recommend this resort. If you have any questions, email me.
Awesome!!!!

From the minute we got there and the minute it took them to check us in, we were treated like we were their long lost friends. I am going back for Thanksgiving, and taking the kids this time. I usually take one Vacation somewhere in the Caribbean every year, I am taking two this year and going back to The Royal Caribbean. I have been to several resorts and this one was the best. The Staff was friendly and very helpful, the pool bar was a great time (3 hour happy hours...can't beat that!!) They were always there to help you set up a day trip, scuba, fishing, you name it they can set the whole thing up for you. We chartered a fishing trip and landed a 7 foot Marlin. And it is not as expensive as I thought it would be, definitely try all of the "Royal" Restaurants, the food is surprisingly good. You can walk to several of the restaurants, and it is romantic to walk the grouds, they are nicely manicured and interesting to see. I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. All Ages.
