Marfa Bay Marfa, Malta, MLH02 , 2152-5900

I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).

The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).

Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

Anita x
Mellieha, Island of Malta, Malta oltona... price realized that had we walked out of the port gates we could have got a taxi and guide for a lot cheaper. Being kiwi’s we hate that feeling of being ripped!!! We visited a beautiful town called Sidi Bou Said, again painted blue and white with the most amazing patterned and painted doors we have ever seen. Tunis consists of the most colourful merchandise, fragrances from the aromatic essences, pretty sparkles from the beaten silver, and ...
Malta, Malta sewtersojourns... to begin disembarkation. Our tour is almost the last one to be called and we walk out the door to the fourth floor deck, put on the stickers with our bus and tour number, swipe our cruise ID cards and board the bus. From the ship it’s hard to tell how to enter the walled city but once we are sitting inside the bus we can see a ramp that enters the city. A lot of people are walking on the paved sidewalk beside the road and I ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta hiwhthi... way. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to head the five minutes back to Valletta and start over again. I made my way back to the bus terminus there which is a actually a giant traffic rotary where buses come and go three layers deep. I found my way back the second time and had some better success after wandering around only ten minutes.

I finally asked for directions as much as it pained me and got pointed up the steep hill ...
Malta, Malta atlpilot36... but oh well, what can one do! On the way to Mdina, I had to stop and visit the Mosta Dome. It is a Church which was bombed during WWII. One sunday, during mass, a bomb penetrated the dome and landed in the church without exploding. Quite a story to tell your grandchildren!! This catholic church is unlike any I have seen before, it is built in the shape of a circle. It is ...
Mdina, Island of Malta, Malta elaqid... ENGLISH: Today I`m doing much better than yesterday. Christmas Eve in Poland is a big deal there. Everywhere else, also onboard the ship, the biggest dinner is served on the first day of Christmas. Today I had plenty of food to choose from. Despite the formal night, we ...
Malta, Malta bogna... on every side. The water was so clear that you could see small fish swim very near to you. As always, the water was freezing but R lead the way to it. She was in to her neck in about 5 mins whereas it took me about 15 to equal her - a race that I had given up on. The water was incredibly calm and the presence of many other sun worshippers around us made it easy for us. We swam and splashed for about 45 mins when R decided that she's had enough. She headed back to our ...
Comin, Malta omkar... nothing has disappointed so far. Every place I have visited has met or exceeded my expectations and many times way over what I foresaw. I know it has something to do with Malta being the place of my heritage and the very earth that my parents, aunties, uncles and grand parents had trodden many years ago. I would see a building, road or feature and imagine my father or mother walking past there as a child, unbeknownst to them their son would be treading the same steps ...
Golden Bay, Malta andrew.galea... know what they're really called, but they collect sea water, and eventually dry and you can get for real salt there. Doesn't get much better than that, eh? Mdina is an old fortified city, and the old capital of Malta, if I remember right. It's realy cool to walk around, and has of course a main cathedral and museum. It's cool to see the differences in architecture between Malta and Sicily, even the rest of Italy as well. There is ...
Mosta, Malta ashygag... Court, in Kappara (Sliema). The girls shared appartments for 4 and 6, the boys shared an appartement for 6. My collegue and I shared an appartment with two twin-rooms, two bathrooms, a living-room, a kitchen and a large veranda. The students' appartments on the 1st floor were the same size and had 3 balconies. This is where we stayed:
