... temperature was pretty comfortable reaching down into the mid 40's, but it rained all freaking night. It never got too hard, but it also never really stopped either until it was time to wake up. Overall, the area got about a 1/2 inch of rain overnight. Luckily, my tent held and I was able to stay dry. This would actually be the only time I had to deal with rain on any of the nights that I camped out.
... a beautiful sunset from my balcony overlooking Lake Ozark, I hurried to the store to get the necessary ingredients. I had to hurry because this was also the night of the season premier of the best show on TV, The Walking Dead!
The steak ended up being great and the show was entertaining as well. The night was very comfortable staying in the suite and I would definitely recommend a visit to Osage Beach for anyone ever passing through the area.
Sunday, Oct. 5th, shoved off from St. Louis for a stressful drive to the Lake of the Ozarks. First the busy 4 laners with the tractor trailers and then the most winding roads ever and absolutely not a single amount of a shoulder anywhere! If you drift even slightly off the edge of the road, forget it. Your vehicle will be rolling around down the bank. Jim drove and I'm sure it was stressful for him. Absolutely no margin for error ...
Not an overly eventful day, but with the downpour of rain that we've been driving around in all day, we don't really mind.
There is a sponsor here in town, but they didn't have anything for us to do, so we were told to simply treat it as a L&L. We tried calling & emailing the newspaper and library, but didn't get any responses. We did hear back from the radio station in town, but the sponsor ...
Today was the first full day on the ship and I'm already losing track of time. It was a good day. We walked around the ship and explored unpopulated corners, played some basketball, which I don't believe I've done since Chico, 10 YEARS AGO, and some shuffleboard.
We went to the dining room for dinner. I wore a colorful dress Chris bought me in Sacramento and I partnered it with a beautiful and sentimental necklace Mamalama made. Chris wore his off-white linen suit, which I love. ...
