... Put up the tree. Watch movies. It's going to be a good month back. Looking forward to it.
The past week I've been in Panama visiting the family that hosted me two summers ago. They changed my life. It was amazing seeing them again. Definitely the highlight of my past few months, out of everything I've done. Nothing can top the relationship I have with them. I got to go to a "Panamanian Fair ...
I just got the bike out of the shop! I've added heated HANDLEBAR inserts (not heated grips), which work great! I also added a cruise-mate lever, so I don't have to mess with that stupid wheel thingey which is standard on the bike.
I also bought Gerbing heated jacket liner and glove liners.
AND, added a mud flap to the ...
I took a trip to the Iron Pony Motorcycle Accessories store in Westerville, Ohio (shameless plug for store inserted here!), where they absolutely EVERYTHING imaginable for a bike rider.
I spent way too much but got new Harley cycle boots, Gerbing heated jacket liner and glove liners. LOVE the heated gear ...
As we move so close to moving on, I realize that I've been miserably negligent in updating the TravelPod. Even though we were working 20 - 40 hours per week at Cedarlane RV Park, we still managed to enjoy ourselves on our days off (generally Sundays and Mondays).
We explored a Confederate Officers' Cemetery on tiny Johnson's Island; visited nearby Marblehead Lighthouse a couple of ...
Cedar Point Amusement Park is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio. It is the land of fun and thrills with over 75 rides and attractions. Cedar Point offers the best in roller coaster thrills.
There's lots for kids also. In fact, a section of the park called "four kids' areas" offers 30 rides and attractions for "just their size". These shots were taken especially for our nieces and nephews.
On September 10, 1813, Commodore Oliver Hazaard Perry defeated and captured a British squandron of warships at the Battle of Lake Erie. The battle, fought during the War of 1812, secured control of Lake Erie for the United States and enabled General William Harrison to conduct a successful invasion of Western Upper Canada.
The memorial commemorates Perry's defeat but more importantly it celebrates the lasting peace between the United States and Canada.
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009: Chilled out in the morning and then headed to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Ohio - about 1 hour from our campsite. We were a little nervous heading it as Jett would be staying alone in the camper for the day - just to let you know he did great! It was very cool seeing the first view of Cleveland - lots of large buildings - very large city. Arrived at the Rock n Roll Hall of fame ...
Sandusky, Ohio, United States dornanMiles driven: 810
Wildlife seen: 3 Deer (Oh boy!)
Highlights: Uhmmmmm..... Not necessarily a highlight but we must have passed a bazillion stalks of corn while driving. Actually, nothing too exciting today, we just racked up a "few" miles on the truck getting from point A to point B. Luckily, we had great ...
... and soybean fields. We also passed some Amish towns which was the first time I have ever done that. I'd like to stop at one, but we really needed to get to our destination. The drive was too long to do touristy things. It was not very hard driving, but by the time we made it to Ohio, I was very tired and stiff. For lunch we stopped at a Wal-Mart. We finally made it to American Wilderness ...
Grafton, Ohio, United States scoonpooh... in a town called Taylor, about 25 minutes from downtown Detroit. It is an unexciting suburban maze with rows of single-storey brick houses, and pick-up trucks and SUVs lining the curbs. Jodi lives with her older brother Andy, his wife Laura and their three kids: Becka (5), Jacob (8) and Cassie (10). They are all really cute (the kids at least), well-behaved and friendly. We went to a typical mid-western bar for a burger and fries, then to another typical mid-western ...
