Rise and Shine... well cloudy in Arkansas.... 6:45am (CT): Morrilton, Arkansas. We woke up at 6:45 this morning and got a pot of coffee going. While we are cleaning up from dinner Gordon looks up to see the sky changing color so off we run to the lake side to watch the sunset.

I will be flying to Atlanta this Tuesday morning and starting my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail the next day. The Appalachian Trail runs for almost 2,200 miles through 14 states. The total elevation gain from hiking the entire trail is like climbing Mount Everest 16 times. I'm planning to/guessing that ...

... to an ice-covered garage roof. The attempt was a complete failure at which point Steph mentioned between fits of laughter that would have been her had she been a cat. The cat's name was Waffles and thus an epic nickname was finally born years and years after she gave me one. Yes, I'm a bit slow but I feel the quality of the nickname outweighs any unimportant tardiness on my part.

And so, let the countdown begin.
