Actually, it is a crowded isthmus with cars parked, market type stalls selling all the usual stuff: jewellery, shawls, leather goods, fake bags, fake scent... and one large stall which only had men's underpants. So useful.
Oh, and of course the ubiquitous piles of rubbish.

We liked Konya as far as a big..not Hugh...but big Turkish city goes...THIS one did not have that chaotic feel to it. I made the mistake of thinking the Dervishes were whirling nightly. NOT. Darn! I am very saddened that I will miss the Dervish here. I guess this just means it will always be calling me back. In spite of the inland pervasive pollution...I do love this country.
