... the struggles of life completely worth it. Gili Air is my kind of island. Out of the three Gilis, this one wins without contest. I'm staying on the quiet side of the island and I wouldn't have it any different. The seclusion was a conscious choice after spending a few days on Gili Trawangan - I knew I'd need the mellow peace of this wonderful island. I've done very little today but that's expected here. ...

... After the hardest workout of my life we made it to the top shortly before sunrise at 6.30 am. Getting to the top was a real achievement, and I really struggle to explain how hard it really was. Unfortunately I have few pictures to share now, as my phone was switched off for all of the trip. I shall let you know! ...

... cross, scorpio etc.). Most of the hike to the summit was sand and rocks, so for each 1m forward i slid 0.5m back. I completed the hike, climbing more than a km in elevation, in just over 2 hours and was one of the first to the top just as the sky was beginning to brighten. As more people arrived I staked out a spot for myself and the quebecois and we watched the beautiful sunrise. We had a view of almost the entire island and ...

... so the rest of our afternoon was sorted. Drinking beers and fancy drinks floating around and making friends with an Aussie couple and Danish girl. It was tons of fun. Shoulders got a little burnt which was not in the plan but it was good. We made some inquiries about diving and in the end Brett has signed up to take his open water diving with one of the shops here! He had to watch a video and answer some questions (which was a bit of a team effort by Brett, another guy doing the ...
