Not being a skier and have never put those planks on my feet I don't know a great deal about the sport. I do know that the slopes are graded into various categories and I think I am right in saying that the Black Diamond runs are considered the hardest or more complex. Just the names of some of the runs would be enough to put me off.

... but it was the first time for Scott, James, and Nikki. I read several comments on cruisecritic that said Alaska is all about the shore excursions and the ship accommodations didn't matter. Well, that is their opinion, but in MY opinion, the ship is a destination and is important to me. Having two small children at home, I was looking forward to being pampered for ten days and even spending three days at sea with NOTHING TO DO!
... enough. I find it all fascinating because it is so different from home. Some oft the drive is fantastic.

The countryside started off as mainly housing, light commercial and some open space and subsequently has changed to near continuous woods (in other words bush/forest) and again next to no farming neither livestock or crop. Seems to be no shortage of green space in the country north ...
We awoke in Sparks, NV and knew we had a long day of riding ahead of us. With that being the case, we left around 8am and ate breakfast along the way. Nevada has one major interstate that crosses the state from west to east. This road across NV has to be the longest, most boring stretch of road we have traveled. Given the opportunity to live in any state in the US, Nevada would rank 50th on my list.
