... something a bit more exciting for our Xmas Eve, we got a tuk tuk to a rock bar that we heard was good. When we pulled up at about 10pm it was closed!! We went a bit further instead to the funky monkey-which had been one of our original options. It was a great choice. There was a live band and kareoke!!! One too many vodka red bulls later, we were dancing and singing having a brilliant night. Adam even made friends with a German couple sat on the next ...

Time to get back on scooters and see what's going on in this island. The six of us are joined by a couple of welsh girls we met last night and we head off to search for some waterfalls and beaches. We don't really know which way is the right way, but I guess that's all part of the fun. Our ride takes us to the south of the island ...

This was the biggest of the islands we had stayed on so we decided to hire a moped for a ...

It's Heather with an update from our final Thai island, Ko Lanta. We took a somewhat scary ferry ride from Ko Phi Phi, but at least it was quick, about 1.5 hours. It is low season in Ko Lanta, so the ferry was small, not too many people heading that way. Our hotel had their shuttle pick us up at the pier and we were there in about 10 minutes.

Since it was low season, lots of places were closed, but those that were open had great rates. We stayed in our own little bungalow ...

... particularly tailoring, seafood and massages, but it is almost startling to hear people peddling their shop in perfect English. Of course, they know how to soft sell too, so it is tough saying no. Even though dive courses are much cheaper over here in Thailand, you still have to expect to shell out several hundred dollars even for one-day trips. We spent the first afternoon/evening just checking out the beaches and eating some delicious noodles, then checking out a ...
