We had a lovely suite overlooking the golf course and ocean. There was even a fire pit on the patio.

We collected two white convertible Mustangs this morning at Union Square and navigated our way out of the city and onto the coast road heading for Half Moon Bay. We stopped off at Pacifica on the way and coincidentally then witnessed the most spectacular pod of whales feeding on the swarms of plankton in the small bay. We had lunch and stayed for …

... the car then made our way to the Half Moon Bay Distillery for some food. Darren and Alison shared a flight of beer (5 little samplers).

On the way back, Chelsea fell asleep and we were all pretty close to doing the same...I guess the sun got to us. The evening was mainly naps and some TV before bedtime.

We had so much fun with them both - you just can't beat seeing a kid kicking about in the waves and laughing.

We may sleep in and check out the local area, or we may head for Fisherman's Wharf. But, at the recommendation of the lady at the desk, we will definitely try the breakfast bakery across the street in the morning.

... somewhat nervously! We found Macondray St, the hidden cobbled street (where our friends are moving to tomorrow) that you'd never know it was there if you had not been tipped off. There were lots of interesting San Fran houses to look at in this area. Exhausted by the climbing we caught a bus to Union at shopping area which was closer to the school (and on less of an incline). We collected Nia from school and heard all about her ...

Conscious of the waste of photo paper, we just say no thanks now, and think of all those photos we have at home just sitting in a box. Have to do something about that when we get back. The island of Alcatraz was eerie to walk around and learn about the history of this rock. Good tour that included an audio and stories of the lives of the people housed ...
