      ... for tea, and the reception guy smiles and said "oh your gonna love this, I have hooked you up" and hook us up he did. Our room was upgraded for free to a two bedroom, living room, two bathroom, full kitchen room. We have a bedroom with a king bed and it's own bathroom, a living room with full kitchen and then another bedroom with two queen beds in it and it's own bathroom! And TVs in every room!! Alright, Score!!!! Pity it's just for one ...

      ... I am trying to remember where we saw the other servants quarters - could it have been the Gould house? There seems to be more recognition of the role the servants played in the historical sites. We were to hear and see how the Irish servant women lived in several different houses on our tour of New York.

      ... Highway is 3 lanes each way and the drive in was very quick. As usual the signage is good and makes it relatively easy to navigate without Tom if we are just looking.

      The clouds had cleared from breakfast and it was a beautiful day, not cold, very pleasant. Walked around the city for a short time taking in part of a walking tour. There are some lovely old buildings, some not so nice looking ones and some big new buildings.

      ... well. Drizzly rain but nothing to stop us from getting out and walking.

      We continued on along this road which has been described as a scenic route and stopped at Deerfield River just past Charlemont. It was 57 degrees F and still drizzling.

      Just before North Adams we stopped to look over the valley. An older couple told us of a Natural bridge nearby which we went to see. It is carved from marble. There had been a large marble quarry in the past. Luckily it is now ...
