... From there we travelled the 350 kms to Charters Towers where we have rested while it has rained. This town has had a long history in the gold mining and continues to this day
Might try some fishing tomorrow in the Burdekin river about 15 km from town and see if we can catch some redclaw (a type of freshwater crayfish - similar to WA gilgies)

... in the region of 28 degrees, so I’m not sure what the girls were expecting, but they were sorely disappointed to see the bride in a relatively small dress and not a huge Disney princess style dress! How thoughtless of her! To cheer them up we made a stop at the ice cream parlour, offering 40 plus flavours of ice cream. We cooked our first roast in our glass oven on our last Saturday in Cairns. The park is packed as the Queensland and Victorian school holidays have started. On Sunday we went to Yorkeys Knob Boat Club for lunch then watched the wind surfers glide across the surf. It was great fun to Skype with the grand kids earlier in the day.
... soon came to find out the bus over heated and we couldn't drive it back..we had to call for another bus that couldn't get to or location for an hour and a half..we were not to happy but the boss ordered pizza for us and had it delivered to our location so we atleast got to eat!
