... From there we travelled the 350 kms to Charters Towers where we have rested while it has rained. This town has had a long history in the gold mining and continues to this day

Might try some fishing tomorrow in the Burdekin river about 15 km from town and see if we can catch some redclaw (a type of freshwater crayfish - similar to WA gilgies)

Hopefully the next blog will be soon

Hope you all stay well

We cooked our first roast in our glass oven on our last Saturday in Cairns. The park is packed as the Queensland and Victorian school holidays have started. On Sunday we went to Yorkeys Knob Boat Club for lunch then watched the wind surfers glide across the surf. It was great fun to Skype with the grand kids earlier in the day.

... closed or are presently very slow going ie: the Coast Road and The Old Telegraph track up to Cape York. But, we are going with the flow! We have checked into a serviced apartment in Cairns for three nights and are eating and drinking in some of Cairn's finest establishments. The night before last we ate AMAZING seafood at the Raw Prawn which is near the Night Markets on the Esplanade. Last night we headed to the Bay Leaf which is a ...
