... Idyllic evening spent
star-gazing and enjoying camping without the trappings and limits of caravan
parks. Next morning, woke to the discovery the van
batteries were cactus, so after a fantastic 5 hours tour with Steve Trezise (he
was the subject of a recent Australian Story) with 3 others mainly checking out
the rock art sites along with a lot of bush-bashing, we headed out east to get to a
town with battery ...
... joined me there and told me she had had similar trouble, so we made sure we swam together back to the safe water's edge (swimming back was obviously much easier because we were going with the current!).
Much later on in the bus I found out that Milla Milla falls was actually where Peter Andre filmed the video to Mysterious Girl - fact!
... the boulders and they meet their death. A creepy little tale! When back at the bus we stopped for a morning tea or juices, cake and biscuits. Since we were already wet, a dip in a river pool seemed like a good idea... The first of the day. "Pleasant bit refreshing" as our guide Syd put it! Our second walk was to an area where here was a natural rock formation we would have been able to slide down if it weren't for the torrential ...
... And then I started to slow my body down and enjoy everything that was being pointed out to me. There were so many fish! There was beautiful coral everywhere. My instructor ensured I was holding onto either his arm or his hand the entire time, which calmed me down so much. There was one point where when you come close to this special purple growth (I don't even know what it's called), and you go to touch it, it senses that something is coming close and it ...
... for quite a while! The lagoon was made for people to use instead of going to the beach as Cairns has crocodile infested waters - no sea swimming here allowed! Had lunch outside near the lagoon before walking back and chilling at the hotel pool. Went to a meeting at 7.15pm with Ainsley regarding the next part of the tour which sounds ...
