... The Dickinsons had a wonderful surprise from their friend they ran into. She had bought them each a souvenir gift from Jackson and had them placed in their room. ... have to go to get to Yellowstone. I lost it. I have, at any one time, no fewer than 7 maps, books, guides, devices, all on my lap or within reach. Not once, not one time has ANYONE besides me, even looked at these. I screamed back, "if you want to know, grab a map and figure it out!!" Then I exclaimed that it was time to go home! Rob pulled over to let me take a picture of the mountains as we left Grand Teton National Park, and let me cool down. I think I did pretty good not popping ...
... and the Tetons were covered with clouds. We stopped at a visitor center and watched a movie about the park. It was pretty laid back but what else would we do on a rainy day? We went to a sushi place for dinner and, with no reservation, ate at the bar. Nice to have something besides steak and buffalo for a change! Now we are having some downtime and actually blogging and watching tv but really, we weren't really missing anything by not having a tv in Yellowstone. TV is pretty ...
... took a shuttle boat across the lake to a spot where we could hike up the mountain.
I still can't believe we did this, but we hiked one mile into the mountain and climbed 400 feet in that mile. The trail was very steep in some areas and full of rocks; no easy walk. At one point the path was cut into the side of the mountain and was only about 2 feet wide. I had to hug the wall. The reward was a beautiful hidden waterfall and Inspiration ...
