Pulau Perhentian Day 147 (14th Oct)

Today me and the crew went to Coral Bay with Becky and Gosher (two canadian guys I had met a couple of days prior). The snorkelling was good, seeing plenty of coral and swimming and joking together. I swam underneath some coral and we all got bit by itchy sea lice, they really hurt and everyone was turning the air blue with their cursing. After I trotted to Moonlight cafe, chatted to the staff who I have become quite friendly with (but not too ...

Pulau Perhentian Day 146 (13th Oct)

Day 6 in this beautiful paradise I again did what I have been doing most of my time here, chilling out and doing very little. The day was spent relaxing, enjoying the pace of life here and building up my energy for the normal, busy pace of travelling which I am so used to. As I have done for most of my travels, only spending a couple of days in one place, getting bored and moving on, it had been a great change of pace here from the usual pace I set myself. I ...

Beauty and the Beasts

... waters. Excess of rats (might I suggest sending some cats over on the next boat). Complete exhaustion, but topped up tan, so not all bad. Now back to Kuala Lumpur for much sleeping......

Q: If the human body is so bloody magnificent and clever, please someone tell me why we were not designed with some sort of shin protection?????

Question posed after boarding the boat and scraping whole shin, now black & blue.

Snorkelling with Sharks..!!!

... stopped at a point called romantic beach, this was a secluded cove with fine powder white sand. At either side of the cove the beach was fringed by large rounded rocks smoothed by the sea. The sea was the clearest I have ever seen. I only wished shelley was there with me to see one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever been fortunate to witness. I vowed to bring her there the day after but shelley was far too Ill. This is justification if justification ...

To the Beach

Amity, I don't know if I can add pictures. I've been denied for every reason out there: no USB port, sloooooooooow connection, didn't read the camera was connected, internet lost connection 1/2 way through. I am going to try this again now. Tamam Negara was great. We decided to take an 11km hike to an overnight hide for nocturnal animal watching. 11km is an average hike we should be able to do in 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. It took us over ...

Perenthians

Hello All, After leaving the Cameron Highlands by uneventful minibus we decided to go to the Perintian islands. We stayed on Kecil island which is the smaller of the two Perinthians and it was absolutely beautiful. Not amazingly different from all the other beaches we'd been too, but we were lucky enough to be on Coral beach which is where the sun set. The skies were truly amazing, especially when it was a full moon. The whole reason we came to the islands was so the girls could go ...

Zoe and Jem on the beautiful island of Kecil

... the night and zoe's favourite jeans and a top of mine had been stolen by some scruffy tramp! The cheek of that! Zo was devastated as she loved those jeans and now has nothing to wear. We left the teva's outside the next night in the hope that they would get stolen but there wss no such luck.... Decided to move on to kuala lumpur next as we were in need of some city time after a month on the beaches. The boys were heading that way too so we went as a little group.....
