    ... holder anyway :) Sam was very happy to have made the house our own. We celebrated with roast chicken and mashed potatoes and my first attempt at a blueberry pie made with a lard crust! Then we all sang kumbayah together!

    OK, scratch that last part. In the interest of full disclosure, and in case anyone is concerned that they will not recognize the domestic Goddess described here, I should admit that all of this self-sacrifice to make my family happy ...

    Taxi fare from hotel to Budapest-Keleti train station 3,000HUF (or NZD 15.50). I'm sitting on the train waiting for it to take off for Vienna. I was wondering what the Austrian trains would be like after the efficiency of the Italian trains. Sitting in our seats now it appears they operate with typical Germanic efficiency.     ... were two routes the buses took around Buda and Pest, the 'green bus route' and the 'pink bus route'. You couldn't miss these buses either, they were bright green and bright pink, hence the names. These 'hop on, hop off' tours let you depart at any of the dozen stops and hang around the closest sight.
