    ... the square next to the U.S. Embassy. The square had a neat statue of Ronald Regan in it, a placation to the U.S. Government for some freedom of speech and press issues. The U.S.Embassy is very heavily fortified and I heard a tour guide give a nice snide remark: "Here is the leader of the free world afraid to interact with the rest of us."     ... overpriced!!! Also a little lonely, can't wait for Jen to arrive!! Sat for ages then went for a walk. Wow! Up to chain bridge, saw Parliament House and the basilica, then tried to come home but got lost :( Walked in the wrong direction and couldn't find the hostel entrance!!     ... on our guided morning tour of Budapest. An amazing city with a shocking past but they are slowly rebuilding it since its independence in 1991. Our tour finished & back to our ship for lunch. Forgot to mention that our superior sister ship" Scenic" pulled along side us ion the early morning so had to walk over there's back to ours.     ... before making our way slowly back towards our hotel, stopping for lunch on the way. When we reached the hotel, there were a number of armed police guards and private security present. Our stay has coincided with a meeting of NATO.     Today was May Day in Budapest, a National Holiday, and we had our first R & R day. We met Adam in the lobby at 8:00 a.m. for a walking tour of Budapest. We walked from our hotel to the Jewish Quarter, walked around the city walls, had coffee and sweets in one of the oldest cafe's in Budapest.
