Sydney, New South Wales, Australia gerard.clementSpent most of the day at Hunter Resort because our pick up wasn't till about 4pm - had a few more Bluetongue beers and then bought some to take away from the Cellar Door (that's what they call the shops where they do wine sales at the wineries) - bought a couple of bottles of wine too, lovely. Because of the time it takes to get back to Sydney (about 3 hours), by the time we got a taxi and got out to Bondi it was dark so difficult to get a sense of the place. Lots of shops and restaurants alo...

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 3110280477Brian finished his secondement on October 9th in style with a four day week, as the Monday was a state-wide holiday in NSW. In order to take full advantage of the long weekend, we had a couple of familiar faces fly in to keep us company! The prior Wednesday, Cindy (Brian's mom) and Steve Baillargeon (KPMG Calgary coworker and friend) arrived in Wollongong. We spent the first couple of days checking out the local beaches and sights (including the Nan ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia jillsutherland... more fun, more about the land. Im going to miss it a lot. But i still think i'd choose England. After one country in two years i now stare down the barrel at five in four months. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and India. The majority of this will be undiscovered territory for me so i dont know what to expect. But i had a tarrot card reading the other day and she told me i will run out of money, so there is always that to look forward to.

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia mikeyburtonSydney… one word…. WOW! I have to say that of all the places I've seen in my life (although there haven’t been that many!), Sydney was by far the greatest city I’ve ever seen! Ok, so I’ll start from the beginning!

I took the 4am bus on Sat morning from Canberra to head over to Sydney, which meant getting up at 2:30am… ouch! The trip didn’t have the best start… the cab driver showed up 20 minutes early, and the bus ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia caro_paquette... place to be buried once you've popped your clogs.

About half way along we came across several police cars and an ambulance tending to a woman who looked like she'd tried to commit suicide from the cliffs...thankfully she'd just got a good soaking and appeared to be OK.

Watching the surfers at Bondi and some of the neighbouring bays was amazing. There were literally hundreds in the water as "the surf was up" as ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia sheerin09... hit us, especially after the cold previous night. We had some Indian food at night and came back to the apartment and had a nice night with Sonja, Norman's sister. They gave us loads of advice on what to do during our stay. Sonja gave us her room. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia leprefrogLast night Australian Daylight Savings Time ended so they turned their clocks back an hour! It figures that on the first day I would have actually been able to sleep until 7am they go and turn the clocks back so I wake up at 6am again! Anyway, that means that Sydney is only 14 hours ahead of New England now. I now have a cell phone and number. The number is 0424651124 and the country code for Australia ...
