Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

We think the bus schedule is such that it times the passing of the buses where there is available space. The side mirrors on the bus are placed forward of the windscreen, and then angled along the side, so tight is the space.

... dog, only a little smaller. I notice the one in my bathroom has a small engraving that says "for lady", which still makes me laugh whenever I think about it. I check out and head down hill to the waterfront. I'm supposed to head out to the little fishing village of Morcote today, and want to get a boat out while the sun is out. It's supposed to rain for the next several days and I imagine tiny Morcote to be pretty boring in the rain. There's a boat leaving at 10:30, ...
