We were lucky enough to be a bit west of the coast and are now moving south, while Arthur is moving north, so we haven’t had too bad of weather. ... ourselves into the stories and lives of these enslaved people. We knew we wanted our students to have the same experience that we had and went and found an African American Colonial Collection of music so we can relive and retell these stories and experiences with our students. We hope our students have dancing shoes ready!

We are off to bed and cannot wait to get up early in the morning to spend the day learning more about this rich and living colonial city.

    Great resort - terrible bed

    from

My family stayed in a two bedroom unit (building 272 - unit 142 G) on August 17th & 18th. The resort was great, rooms were clean BUT the king size bed in the master was terrible. Whoever purchased these beds must have saved a bundle of money for the resort. It was so bad I slept on the fold out couch! The kids beds were fine...

I would stay there again in a heart beat if I could be assured they had replaced the king beds with something decent.

    Excellent location

    from

Family and I really enjoyed the resort. Perfectly situated on the outer edge of Williamsburg. The resort was beautifully landscaped and the rooms exceeded our expectations. Took advantage of the full kitchen and cooked instead of spending a fortune eating out three meals a day for a week. Would definitely stay there again.

    Be warned.

    from

I don't normally do this, but I feel I must warn others. We booked online, and given a guarantee of a 2-bedroom unit with one queen and one king. Well we we checked in we were given a unit that had two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom. NOT appropriate when it is two couples staying there. They stated that their online system does not communicate with their local reservation system, so that is were the error occured. Ok, that's fine, but what are you going to do now. ---- NOTHING. They gave us to run around, by having us talk to 5 different people. They suggested pushing the beds together----be for real. They stated that if they had another unit then they would charge us a $65 fee to let us move---ok, was it our mistake?

    Really nice

    from

I thought Greensprings was a really nice place to vacation. It is on a golf course and very quiet and off to its self. The room was clean, it had a 2 tv, a dvd and vcr. We had a 2 bedroom unit with 2 full bathrooms. The master bathroom had a double vanity, whirlpool tub and steam shower. My son (4) enjoyed the basketball court and pool. It was the best. We would definitely come back. To the other visitors defense, the service may have been bad. My mother tried calling us and the phone had to ring 40 times before someone answered it. They were understaffed which made check out and check in kinda long but none of this affected us because we had everything we needed. I would definitely go back. We loved it. You can trust my opinion. I am very picky.. :)

    Would never stay here again!

    from

We were at Greensprings during the week of April 17th, 2004. What an awful place!! They were terribly understaffed and the staff that was there could not care less about things. We were missing blankets from the twin beds in the second bedroom, and they couldn't find any all week! Also, all week there were big, ugly bugs in our unit. It was gross.

The funniest things was that they kept calling us to go to a timeshare presentation. I finally told them I would never buy a timeshare from a place that couldn't even find blankets for me.

Next time we'll go back to the Kingsgate hotel which we thought was great.

    Most awful experience ever!!

    from

We were allowed to check in an hour early, but from that point on our trip was a disaster! They put us in a "smoking" unit which became completely FILLED with smoke when the tenants below us came home in the evenings and began smoking. We called front desk about our problem and allergies to smoke and were given the run around for 4 DAYS (at one point they had the audacity to bring a can of lysol neutralizer to "help eliminate the smoke"!!!) Finally, on the 4th day we were given another room in a non-smoking unit which amazingly enough almost the entire building had been empty our whole stay.(apparently, they only have 1 non-smoking building out of 12!) The 1st smoke-free room we moved to had major pieces of furniture missing, the 2nd one had broken lamps. At that point we decided it wasn't worth it. The resort itself is beautiful and ideally located for all the attractions. However we were so miserable during our stay I wouldn't suggest ANYONE stay there!

    Great Family Resort

    from

Even though they double booked us and we had to wait for a room for almost 2 hours with two starving toddlers, the accommodations and rest of the stay were excellent. It was clean, safe, quiet, and had a fully equipt kitchen, large whirlpool bath, steam shower, washer and dryer, and even had a DVD and VCR. It's close to the grocery and restaurants, and Colonial WIlliamsburg, Jametown and Yorktown are all just minutes away. Nothing is walking distance but the Greensprings property, located in the middle of a golf course, is nice for walks or bike riding. After finally checking in, we eventually ate at 8 PM, after our kids should have been in bed. Maybe call first to confirm reservation?

    Great family place to stay

    from

Found this place on Travelocity, it is an RCI time share property but they rent the units as well. Stayed 3 nts and it was great. Had a 2 bdrm condo unit, just beautiful! A full kitchen, dining area with table for 6, 1 bath had a steam shower, the master bath a jacuzzi tub, sofa sleeper in family room with gas fireplace. Washer/dryer were handy to do laundry as we continued on our trip. LOTS of stuff to do at resore, they have an outdoor pool, and an indoor one, workout room, tennis courts, ping pong, mini golf and movie rentals. Some had some fees to use. Had offer to hear time share presentation for $00 in restaurant vouchers, passed on that, and there was no pressure at all. Great grocery store a few miles away, Ukrops, got some ready made dinners and eat in room after a busy day of sightseeing, so much better than eating out. Only negative comment would be they have a strict 4 pm check in policy so don't even think of checking in early. Had about 20+ groups waiting in lobby at magically at 4pm all those rooms were ready! Check out is strict too, 10am or they charge you $50/hr! Think they could improve on the check in process. Great place for families, highly recommend.

    Greensprings Plantation

    from

Greensprings was wonderful. Easy check in and check out. The unit was very clean and smelled good. It was comfortable for my family including guests and a 88 year old mother. Gas fireplace, steam bath, whirl pool all of it was wonderful. Thanks again for a bonus vacation.

Very nice place to stay - very spacious; lovely grounds

    from

We have stayed at Greensprings Plantation twice while taking our oldest child to and from college. The 2 bedroom/2 bath condos are very spacious, nicely maintained, and the grounds around Greensprings are very nicely kept. We have paid various nightly rates - once very reasonable (May, 2003) and once a little pricey (August, 2003). We have reservations to stay there again this next April for Easter at a very good price - almost too good to believe - through Travelocity. I hope the unit is as nice as the ones we have stayed in previously. It is nice to be on the golf course, since my husband and son enjoy playing while we are there and it is so nice to look off the balcony at the course. I highly reccommend Greensprings.
