... lamps and a couple of stalls with hand-painted mezze dishes and coasters. I treated myself to some of the latter for my university room! It was a shame these lovely stalls were almost masked by the other more garish, enthusiastic street vendors. As we reached the end of the market we got to the best part - food! ... spots - no one seems to mind though. But it is in the main port where passengers close their eyes; without too much of an error, the back wheels would be over the edge! The road between the building and the water is only just wide enough for the bus. We met up with a few Greek Australians who have traded part or the whole of their lives for a life on the island. We loved Symi; it was unexpectedly charming and we would go back in a heartbeat.
