      ... on time. We made it though. The bus to Surfers Paradise was three hours with a time change. Queensland doesn't have day light savings as it is further North. The border between Queensland and New South Wales runs through a built up area so people living there must have a nightmare remembering which side of the state line they are on, and therefore what time it is. Very friendly people staff the Bureau so after several conversations we finally got what we wanted – more maps than we really needed and lots of information.

Then it’s time to hit the rides girls start with Batwing, Green Lantern was closed, Bill watched while one very grumpy man described in detail to the attendant how angry he was it wasn’t working and how it’s just a rip off joint, now I don’t know about you, but if the powers that be decide a ride needs to shut down for safety I would prefer to not be on it!

      ... relaxed. It was so hot and I didn't even get burnt, I was very impressed with myself! In the evening we got a bigger group together and went for gourmet fish and chips (I treated myself to lots of food on this day, can you tell?!)
