Beautiful Resort, Beautiful Location, Beautiful People

We spent three weeks at the Sunset Cove Beach and Forest Resort, and the longer we stayed the more we did not want to leave, as we were so well taken care of. The carefully tended garden scape that extends throughout the resort is magical. As soon as you enter the property you are surrounded by lush, relaxing tropical green beauty. And then you arrive at the beach front, with the enormous infinity pool five feet away from the beach and the lapping waves, graced by tall graceful coconut trees, and your jaw drops. (And did I mention how incredibly quiet this beautiful, pristine little beach is?)

Although there are a variety of bungalows to meet a broad budget range, we stayed in the deluxe cottage which was very spacious, with a large storage closet, a huge outdoor bathroom, and a wall of windows overlooking our balcony in the garden. Add to this the excellent friendly, efficient, and caring staff and you have a formula for a lovely experience. The included breakfasts were generous and offered quite a bit of variety, and the restaurant was also conveniently open throughout the day and evening. We ate there often, but many other excellent dining options were also available along the beach and the coastal road the resort is located on.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely, and look forward to returning again next year for a longer stay. Highly recommended.

          Relax by the beach

At the end of a tour round Thailand this was a lovely way to finish our trip. Located right on the beach with a lovely pool as well. The sea is very shallow for a long way and we did some rock pooling and snorkelling (don't forget your flip flops or waterproof shoes). The hotel provided kayaks too. The rooms are basic, no cable tv just DVDs to borrow and no tea making facilities but it can be forgiven for the location. This is at the opposite end of the island to the party town of Haad Rin but there are also parties on this beach and various restaurants to choose from for your evening meal.

We thought we would splash out a little and spoil ourselves, and for less than the price of a Travelodge you can stay here- our room had air-conditioning, a giant king size bed, private deck, outdoor bathroom (!!!). The hotel has an infinity pool, is right on the beach, the food is great, the atmosphere is chilled...we couldn't have asked for more! I'm sure that a lot of other people would say you could get somewhere for cheaper or stay somewhere with more of a party atmosphere, but that's not what we were after and this ticked all our boxes!

Although we had planned and - atypically for us - even pre-booked travel and accommodations to come to this part of yet untravelled southern Thailand for weeks in advance, we almost did not get here. The day before we were to pick up our flight from Canada to Bangkok, we learned of the unprecented rainfalls that were creating disastrous flood …
