15th August
Our first evening in our hotel we had the most amazing Vietnamese meal which we both agreed had been one of the best meals we had had in a long time, then it was time for bed.
Only 14 more sleeps until Mitch arrives :-)

We had a short and very cramped flight in a plane built with Vietnamese leg room - we felt sorry for the 6ft5 Dutch guy sat next to me. Fatima however didn't know what all the fuss was about, thinking she was in Business class with plenty of leg room! We arrived at our very nice hotel on Cua Dai beach and spent the afternoon chilling by the pool. …
March 14 - 17
14th March This morning we are heading to Hoi An and i cant wait as I have heard so many great things. Our cab ride was meant to be a fixed rate at 350 Dong. Unfortunately for us our cabby had other ideas. On the way to the airport he stopped off at the cannon factory to speak with and grab something from his wife- awesome just what you wanna be …

... moment, just standing up was a big issue. But at least I wasn't alone. The other three were having just as much trouble. The guy that spoke English was hilarious, by the end of the hour he was still averaging one lap every twenty minuets with his shuffle technique not working out too well.
I started off very shaky but after half a lap round I thought that I was suddenly an expert and decided to try and go up a ramp. What a bloody stupid idea! ...

We made some friends who drew moustaches on people, danced briefly on the poser podium (whoops) and then road our bikes in convoy with moto's to volcanoes. Again. The 'resident' DJ tonight was some Swedish guy who only played trance music and ignored anything that anyone else wanted on. As I'd been here the night before (and shamefully returned) I ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsSunrise Hoi An Beach Resort
We stayed at Sunrise for 3 nights in August and were more than happy with the experience. Some of the decoration is looking a tiny bit tatty already, but this is purely the odd chipped paint etc, nothing more.
The rooms are nice and modern and have all the amenities you want. WiFi was reliable which also seems a rarity in these parts.
The pool bar does a happy hour between 5 and 7 in which is't 2 for 1 on all alcoholic beverages. Just keep in mind that you will automatically get two of the same, you can't have two different even if they're the same price.
Drinks did seem a little expensive, not by western hotel standards but certainly for the middle of Vietnam. The Thai food by the pool bar really was superb, probably some of the best we had during out visit.
Other reviews mentioned the lack of English speaking front house staff. I must admit we didn't encounter this, all of the staff were very courteous and we had no problem in understanding one another.
There's a free shuttle bus to and from Hoi An old town on a reasonably frequent basis, and also a free shuttle to the airport, although a hotel taxi is only $15 anyway.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and a hotel that I would be happy to recommend.
