We arrived in Hangzhou, ready for our journey to Moganshan. Moganshan is a small town, famous amongst the Chinese for being a tourist resort for the rich Chinese. Chairman Mao's summerhouse was located in Moganshan and was one of the optional activities during our stay. The reason for this is because Moganshan has a cooler climate in the summer, which can get quite hot in Shanghai. A lot of the area is filled with bamboo plants, which are harvested for ...

Decided to get out of Shanghai for the weekend. Headed for the fresh air and bamboo groves of Moganshan. It was very relaxing until I decided that it would be a good idea to bike to the top of the mountain. Then it turned into a work out. Some serious hill climbing. 1.5 hours to the top, and only 5 minutes back to the bottom. Watch out ...

... walked to the gardens and saw them making combs. The garden was the Garden of Quiet Meditation. Wish the Chinese would take the hint. Inside were the usual things which make up a garden keeping the ying and yang. We saw a man cutting paper and he can cut into 1000’s of pieces to make a picture. We walked over a small street and into a big square with lots of people sitting around waiting for something to ...
