    We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    We visited St George's Church. We climbed up to the top of the old Fort for panoramic views.

    We walked past lots of little shops,through narrow streets winding and eventually finding our way back to the old port square and back to the port to board the ship.

    ... we quickly got dressed and went up to to the top deck and watched as one of our life boats went out to a tiny motor boat that was rented by “unskilled” sailors. There was a mechanical issue with the engine, and two other local boats arrived to help further. Our life boat came back on board, and we were on our way.
