        ... which actually are a species of char.

        The new dam wall is being built by Brookfield and I had an interesting chat with the clients Engineering Manager. The site has to close from Christmas until May each year because of the icy conditions. Some of the guys will work those months on another company project in Alabama, but most just go onto Unemployment Benefits. That is apparently normal.

        ... later. They directed us to a clinic, and even drew a map. Unfortunately, Tula proved to be, hands down, the most confusing city we had tried to navigate in Mexico. We hardly ever saw a street sign. We chased up and down this street and that, stopping and asking for directions. Usually the directions were in conflict with the prior directions. We had left the hotel before 8:00 am, and it was 1:00 pm before we finally found the clinic. The people there were excellent, and ...

        ... that Portugal has to offer. One city calls itself the Venice of Portugal! Should be interesting. But first I will head 40 minutes west to Sintra a UNESCO World Heritage Site after that it is east to Evora another World Heritage Site with amazing castles and ancient ruins.         ... Rolling at a leisurely speed of 1 mph. Ahhhh, if I could have video recorded our grand entrance and set it to music! haha.

        After we parked the car on the US side, the US patrol officer let us use their phones to cancel our hotel reservations that was supposed to be near Baxter State Park and continue calling AAA because 45 minutes came and went. There were issues with jurisdiction of getting a towtruck sent from the Canadian AAA and not being able to travel ...

        Today was bittersweet as it was our last day with the Shifrins and our time in Maine was drawing to a close. Besides, we needed to start thinking about things like getting the kids to the Doctor so they could enrol in school, setting up our apartment and, in general, beginning the process of readying ourselves to get back into a routine and starting school and work!!!!
