It's time to pull up stakes and head north. We have about 750 miles left to get to Bellingham, WA where we will be storing our coaches while we take our Alaska Cruise Tour. Since we have to be in Bellingham by the 14th we'll put sightseeing aside until our return from Alaska.
Our drive up into Northern California was just beautiful! It just amazes me how incredible this state is for it's natural beauty and range of options.

Today was set aside for R & R around the campground. After a delicious steak dinner, cooked on the grill, we went to the local holiday celebration, "Concert in the Park". It was a family barbeque and a concert by local musicians; we were there only a few minutes before returning to the campground.
... we headed north on CA Rt. 139, west on CR Rt. 161 then south on US 97, I-5 and east on CA Rt. 89 to the campground. This route took us through some beautiful farmland and then the Ponderosa Pine forests that cover much of the higher mountain sides. For almost the entire trip back we had the snow caped 14,000 foot “Mount Shasta” as a beacon toward which we were heading.
... the campground is full of families and there are kids everywhere, it is great to see everyone having fun. After setting up camp we went to visit a high school friend of Jack’s and her husband, for dinner and some great conversation. It was great being able to reunite with them after so many years.
Today we learned about Geriatric patients and injuries to male and female genitalia. Geriatric patients can be hard to deal with sometimes, because of all the meds they take and how you have to talk with them. Geriatric patients tend to be the highest percentage of patient calls that you will receive as an EMT. The genitalia injuries was quite disgusting and was ...

Love this place, good people, very peaceful... a good break as I drive north or south... I am always in a hurry, and I wish that I could overnight here...
