We had an early start for our game of golf; a 8.12 start and so had to leave the apartment at 6.30. The traffic was pretty light but we couldn't decide whether this was because is was early or the holiday. In fact we couldn't really decide if it was a holiday. Most shops seemed open but I think the businesses were closed since on the way home it did seem quiet.

The city was destroyed by an earthquake around the 2nd C and abandoned. It has never been fully excavated or restored and the whole site is a jumble of stone blocks and pillars. A couple of thousand years of re-forestation too means that the site is covered by trees ...
... there is a new tram which runs out to the Otogar) we headed back to Kaleiçi to find the old covered bazaar. We found it but it was a disappointment after the wonderful Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Walked out of Kaleiçi I to the non tourist part of town to a recommended Pide and cafeteria restaurant. Food was great and cheap. We both had dinner for 19 TL (about $10)- can't beat ...

Today we explored Antalya. After breakfast we set forth on the bus to the city. It's only 4km along the coast but we decided to leave the car and grab a bus (2TL) which took us directly to our first stop; the museum. Antalya Museum is unbelievable. It's absolutely stuffed full of the most amazing material. Probably the most impressive are the Roman statues, I've loaded ...
