Great place to stay. Just remember you use the room mostly for sleeping as you spend the whole day at the parks.

    Great Resort

    from anonymous

We stayed at Star Island Resort for three days during Christmas Vacation 2004. We checked in at 8:00 PM, and everything went well. The only annoyance was that the front-desk workers sent us to another desk to tell us where are rooms were (to gauge our interest in a timeshare purchase, which we said we weren't.) We booked through an outside source so I can't comment on anything related to booking straight with Star Island. Our villa was a one-bedroom, and it was lovely. The master bedroom was enormous with a beautiful jacuzzi tub and separate, spacious shower. The entire villa was decked out in imitation green marble and looked beautiful. The walls were busted in a few places (in the toilet room and next to the bathtub) but this was not a huge problem. The sofabed was easy to use but the matress was uncomfortable as the springs could be felt. There were no sheets for the sofabad when we came to our villa but they promptly brought them up. They have two beautiful pools, one shaped like a thin eight and one free-form pool with a waterfall in the middle. They were both heated to an awesome temperature and were very warm. There was also one hot tub. Towels were provided by a poolside cabana. The tennis facility was wonderful; however, some of the courts were wet in the morning because of nearby sprinklers and were thus unplayable for a while. The pro, Luke, was helpful and informative. He set us up with two doubles matches the first full day and one doubles match the second full day. The morning clinic (on Tuesdays) was also quite nice. Overall, a great resort!

Not the best timeshare in Orlando

    from cheshireman

We have stayed at a few timeshare 'resorts' in the Orlando area. The Star Island is certainly not the best.

Previous comments about the lack of courtesy from the staff all turned out to be true.

We had a 3rd floor apartment. There was no elevator. A lot of the fixtures and furnishings had seen better days.

For the scale of the resort, some of the facilities were lacking, while others were just plain unwelcoming.

Finally, US192 is not the best location in Orlando - it is all looking a bit tired and tacky.

Recommend one of the Marriott timeshares (e.g Cypress Harbor) instead.

    Great 2 weeks!!

    from anonymous

When i got to str island iwas so happy we had drived for 2 days and everyone was tired. The pool and tennis courts were beautifle and the rooms were supper we stayed in a 3 bdr. The kids loved it and kissimmee has everything from great restraunts and stores to great attractions.

Whoever decides to go to Florida i would advise them to stay in Kissimme and in Star island. One issue I had was that the front desk was kind of rude and some of them could'nt even speak english. But Overall it was SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Fabulous amenities..poor customer service

    from anonymous

This is a most enjoyable place if you need peace and quiet, and want a

laid back, relaxing experience. Our one bedroom villa with the jacuzzi

in the bedroom, was absolutely perfect. Very clean, and had everything

you could need. The pool is like a vacation postcard. The grounds are

    meticulous.

On the down side..don't expect customer service..the staff are some of the unfriendliest we have come across. Very rarely were we ackowledeged..we were never offered a chance to talk about a timeshare possibility..I would have lsitened! and, there is no "real" restaurant "on the grounds"..its an outside grill offering burgers, etc.

..but there are plenty of restaurants all around, so that was not a

    problem.

    Beautiful resort, rude staff!

    from anonymous

We stayed in this resort in july 2002. It was a very beautiful resort with a nice pool for the childeren. We had a 3 bedroom villa, wich was very beautiful and spacious. The master bedroom had a king size bed in it, the second bedroom had 2 full size beds in it and the third bedroom had a sofa bed in it. What we didn't like is that it has no elavator!!

We traveled with my grandmother and it was a little difficult for her to go up and down the stairs. The staff was also not helpful at all, and they are very rude!!! You would expect more from such a big resort.

If it weren't for the front desk staff I would stay there again!!

    5 stars for Star Island

    from anonymous

I am a timeshare owner of Star Island and have stayed at Star Island twice. Both stays were excellent. Quick check in, check out, and extremely friendly helpful employees. The kids loved the pools, tennis courts, and jet skis. Our last stay was in April 2003. The nearby Kissimmee area has everything from fast food to fine restuarants, so meals are no problem. Of course you have all the theme park attractions, but you are not far from either coast. Kennedy Space Center is an easy drive, as is the Gulf coast around the Tampa area.

    Wonderful six days!

    from anonymous

We were there July 12-18 2003 The Resort and Spa were fabulous. Front desk was sometimes rude. Our three bedroom villa was just beautiful and well maintained. Our ninety minute presentation was just that,no hard selling and straight to the point.

    Beautiful and excellent Resort

    from anonymous

I was very impressed and happy upon arriving at Star Island. Everything was beautiful and showed the quality of a Five Star Resort. The service was excellent and the rooms beautiful and spacey. All this in turn made me become a owner at this fabulous resort. I recommend it to everyone coming to this area.

There are Better Places in Orlando

    from anonymous

I am a timeshare owner of this property, and am extremely unhappy with the quality and service we've received. We stayed here the first time, as a prospective buyer, and were treated nicely. We were willing to overlook some of the property shortcomings...namely the poor desk service and the limited features of the property. The units themselves are nice, as are the pool and tennis courts. However, the food service/selection is poor. But the biggest complaint I have is with the management of the desk and of the owner office.Prior to our 3rd trip, I called and prearranged to pay the real estate/maintenance bill by credit card (about 30-40 days before our scheduled week). Apparently, the charge was not processed, but I was unaware due to the billing cycle of our cc and I received no notice in the mail from Star Island. In fact, a week prior to our travel, I called their office to ensure everything was in order, and was not told of any problems. Check-in was a hassle (the desk service was, as typical, slow and confused). On day two of our stay, we received a call from Housekeeping to say they were told to evict our belongings from the Main Office, apparantly because the real estate/maintenance bill was still outstanding. We spent an hour arguing with the Main Office that we had already arranged payment (the original person was not in the office). After waiting an additional 45 minutes, we received a call back that they had verified what we said was true, and to go and have a "good time in the parks." We never received an apology, or additional follow up. We were so shaken by Housekeeping's original call (they were going to set our belongings outside the room), that we went nowhere that day, until I verified with my cc company that a charge had been processed. It is not what I envisioned timeshare ownership to be -- I expected some courtesy and service as an owner. Our mortgage payments are processed automatically each month. Recently I received a call from Star Island saying that the last paymeurchase" the unit if we don't immediately make a payment by credit card. It's not a way to treat the customer, and I would rather walk away than stay there another week. I've been very disappointed with this property.

    Awesome!

Everything about the the place was great. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa that was just super. The pool and tennis area is great and the resort is near everything.
