from start to finish our stay here was perfect. very helpful staff. heavenly atmosphere... they offer elephant rides and yoga... its a very peaceful and relaxing place. the staff is wonderful!

... are collected and taken across the island to a port, loaded onto a boat (more people, although a much bigger boat this time - more like a pleasure boat) and we head out in to the bay. Our guide explains to the passengers that we will be stopping at various places, getting into canoes and then we'll be paddled around the various caves and hidden lakes that form the islands in this part of the bay. ... It was in a beautiful gabana on the beach, it looked like something from out of a film or something!! Ko lanta is very quiet, the beach is empty - it's just what we wanted!! A few days to work on the tan and chill on the beach, tonight we are going to play cards on our balcony with a cocktail!! :) I think tomorrow we are going to rent some mopeds and see what's going on!! ... We sat and read in our beachfront lobby until massage time. At 4:30PM we walked over for our massage. This was our first massage outside in a hut overlooking the beach. Not bad. Hearing the ocean waves as you have delicious smelling coconut oil rubbed on you is a pretty divine experience. When the sun was starting to set they rolled up the tarp to expose the sunset. Even better. After our massage we looked at each other and laughed at our hair pulled back in a bun full ...

... boat tied up to their hut (see pic) and seem to live very peacefully with their hens and bamboo constructions. Building with bamboo is free! Then we went for more adventure to find an Eco camp run by a Dutch lady and a couple of volunteers where they are aiming to be self sufficient tucked away in the jungle. Today they were building the veg garden, growing terraces of dragon fruit, star fruit and basil etc. so soon enough they'd brought out a starfish ...
