      Overpriced luxury

Bungalow was wonderful but set across the road and in the trees with no view of the beach is not ideal. Extortionate and compulsory charging for a Chrismas Eve dinner even less ideal. For a far more pleasant and cheaper alternative stay at Miami just along the beach - ate and drank there and stayed well clear of the bar and restaurant at Sri Lanta. Even breakfast was disappointing - pork and more park and western food only. Why would I go to Thailand to have bacon and eggs

      The Thai life

... it was quite mesmerising to see the sky's colours changing. After three days partying on Koh Phi Phi we decided it was time to move on to somewhere a little more chilled. The pace has slowed right down since and there is certainly a different vibe between holidaying and travelling Given there are a number of creepy crawlies in Thailand I have been pretty lucky in avoiding them so far. That was until one night when I went to ...

... fit in one last day trip however. On my birthday i went to Raileigh. While it is part of the main land, it might as well be an island. Raileigh is inaccessable due to an impassable mountain range. The only way to get there is by boat. It's a beautiful place and is split into sections. You have Raileigh east, which is muddy as opposed to sandy and is where the majority of boats arrive to and depart from. Then there is Phra nang beach which is also home to Phra nang ...

      Koh Phangan

A travel blog entry by roamsweetroam on May 16, 2014

We spent an eventful week in Koh Phangan. Our accommodation here was the only thing we booked in advance in Thailand because we knew we wanted to go for the full moon party - a famous monthly party which is notorious for too many tourists getting far too drunk on the beach. So exciting. Because we booked it in advance we treated ourselves a little bit and stayed in a rather nice resort called Milky Bay. It was away from the main beach ...

... gorging on ice cream. As it was the girls last night in Thailand we went to a highly recommended restaurant a short walk from our hotel. Time For Lime is famous on Koh Lanta for its cocktails as well as its six course tasting menu which changes daily. The profits from the restaurant are also used to fund the islands animal welfare clinic which looks after injured and homeless cats and dogs on the island, meaning that the garden leading up to the restaurant was full of rescue cats ...

... way but is only 50 baht each in a little pick up trick with seats in the back. When we got to ao nang we found some seats in the beach which even though we had to pay for them we were given some free fruit. This meant we had a bit of shade plus it was only a few steps to get to the sea. We spent the afternoon reading books and deciding how we will spend our last few days in ...
