Bungalow was wonderful but set across the road and in the trees with no view of the beach is not ideal. Extortionate and compulsory charging for a Chrismas Eve dinner even less ideal. For a far more pleasant and cheaper alternative stay at Miami just along the beach - ate and drank there and stayed well clear of the bar and restaurant at Sri Lanta. Even breakfast was disappointing - pork and more park and western food only. Why would I go to Thailand to have bacon and eggs

... we set off a friendly man came around, pulled down the beds and made up our beds. Unfortunately as I had only booked the day before I was left with the top bunk, it wasn't too bad, but I didn't trust the ropes supposed to keep you in! The only drama was needing to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. It was pretty hard to navigate down the tiny ladder whilst trying to ensure that my hair ...

... coast. It was Kristen's first time, and she caught on so quickly after only few minutes of wobbly legs as she got her balance! I cheered her on and we were both laughing as she concentrated on rowing and staying standing on the board! It was our first watersport action that we captured on our new GoPro so we are excited to see and share the footage! Koh Lanta reminds me in many ways to my beloved Maui! The beaches are beautiful and clean while not very busy. The ...

... as well. Eventually, once everyone appears to be in the right place, the ferry leaves and the longtails drop you on the beach in front of your accommodation. Unfortunately our resort thought we were on a different ferry, we stood on the deck confused for a few moments when another boat offered to take us to the island for a small fee, upon arriving at our restort they kindly gave us money to cover this.
Our first thoughts were that Koh Jum seemed much quieter than Ko ...

... assent before I was a certified diver. The night before I had sat quietly in my room and focused on my breathing. I had to learn to be able to disconnect my nose and mouth breathing so that I would not choke on water running down my throat. I finally found a way of breathing I thought could work and different to what I had been doing before, so I slept hoping I had cracked the challenge. Practising two meters below the surface Nin signals underwater for me to do the ...

... used to anything like what we saw, the girls even went to the toilet and came back advising us all to have a 5 minute toilet break from heaven! Toilet roll has become a luxury on our travels. We had a lovely lunch along the beach front, with freezing flannels at the end of it, again feeling spoilt. We made Lauren into a mermaid in the sand and messed around for a while before going back to the car. Luckily we did as it started raining on cue mid afternoon. It ...
