Bungalow was wonderful but set across the road and in the trees with no view of the beach is not ideal. Extortionate and compulsory charging for a Chrismas Eve dinner even less ideal. For a far more pleasant and cheaper alternative stay at Miami just along the beach - ate and drank there and stayed well clear of the bar and restaurant at Sri Lanta. Even breakfast was disappointing - pork and more park and western food only. Why would I go to Thailand to have bacon and eggs

Life in a Thai Fishing Village

As I look out over the sea from my hammock on the deck, slightly swinging in the breeze, this little fishing village is starting to feel more and more like home. Despite the hazy environment from the Sumatra fires drifting up and cloaking the island, Ben and I have still been very much enjoying our first month of local life.

Old Town combines the charm and friendliness of rural Thailand with an authentic sense of culture. ...

It was decided after much back and forth debate that we had to leave Koh Phi Phi to give our body some rest. We could picture ourselves doing nothing other than laying on a beach for a few days, maybe even start that second chapter of my book, eating fruits and healthy meal, drinking nothing but water... in order to cleanse and purify that temple that is our body which had been forced to binge drinking and late night pizza munching for the past week!

... to the main swimming pool. In the evenings we would go to an rather expensive reggae bar on the other side of the rocky peninsula located on the resort. We enjoyed some drinks, appetizers and reggae music while watching the sunset. We decided to stay 10 days in Koh Lanta, enjoying the Southern Thai beach life. We stayed in a nice villa next to the Kor Kwang beach located at the Twin Bay Resort for the remaining 7 days while on Koh Lanta. For ...

... to read my book so just sat by the pool (not the best but it was ok!) We are paying 1000 baht each here, so ten pounds each for the night. We were going to stay in our first dorm, but they are quite expensive here, so we are just going to wait until Australia where we will be staying in them every single day. At around 4 o clock, Jonny and I walked to the beach, and sat down at a bar called 'stoned' and yes it did smell exactly as you'd ...
