After breakfast we took an impromptu side trip to the shore of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee. Didn't see much of the lake because there was a breakwater which formed a small harbor. Got great views of Milwaukee skyline and several nearby museums. Then drove 80 miles west to Madison, the state capital. First day on the road started out with me waking up to the thought of eight hours in an RV with squeaks, bumps, bangs and some mysterious unidentified sounds unknown to human kind (never know what kind of sounds you will find in an old rented RV).
