Silver Lakes Resort
We spent 3 nights here in August 04 and we loved every night. The staff were all kind and patient with all guests. Our one bedroom condo (G) was roomy and included a king sized bed, jacuzzi tub, a pull out couch, washer and dryer, kitchen (well stocked with essentials), and a screened in porch. We had a plasma screen tv, vcr,and dvd player. There was plenty of parking available at all times of the day or evening. The pool area was very large and never seemed overly crowded. There was a cabana bar that served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They had specials every day. There was a weight room, arcade room, a movie theater, a computer room (free access), and a gift shop. We did attend the timeshare presentation. We were done in 1.5 hours and there was no pressure when we said no. The salesperson was very nice. We would stay here again. The location is very central to Disney. They are surrounded on 3 sides by Disney and offer free transportation to the parks. There are daily children's activities but we did not utilize them. Don't hesitate to stay here.
It's above average
It was very nice at the hotel. But they did make it seem bigger than it really was on the computer. But they had a great pool. It was not to small it was a great size. They also have a great game room. But, the driving car game on the left ate my money don't go on that one. ( they will also not give your money back if they dont have any ). Other wise it was really good they had a great gift shop to.
Spacious but old
I stayed at Silver Lake Resort for 3 days I was not impressed, got it at skyauction for a decent price but i would not go back, the pool is huge and very nice, but the decor is old. Front desk closes early if you are checking in late, make sure you call ahead so your keys are left w/security
Surpassed our expectations
We loved it at Silver Lake. We rented thru skyauction and got a great deal but was a little worried that we would be bothered about timeshare stuff. We turned down the presentations for timeshare info at check-in and no one said another word about it. The location was nice and the rooms were spacious. Lots of activities going on around the pool (fun pool) and in the activities/game room area. We were in the 1700 building by the pool which was nice. Good parking, pool side bar and food. We would stay here again.
We are going back...
We stayed at Silver Lake in 1998 and are going back
for 2 weeks in August 2004. We liked the smaller feel of this resort over some of the larger ones in this area. The pool was a short walk, the resort and units were clean and beautiful. The best part is that we were less than a 30 second drive from Disney property.
I liked my stay at silver lake resort I loved the food it was not greasy and the rooms are nice now the sales presentation was good I became an owner at silver lake when I was there. Now I feel silly that I weent there to say I did not want to buy becouse now I feel like it is not fair that someone will travel all the way from canada to talk about the food at a resort instead of talking about the fun they had on vacation I got in to timeshare to go places with my kids not to get a freebie like some people out there. Try staying there for the weekend and listen what they have to offer and see if it works for you if not then atlease you know that timeshares not for you, but if I knew I was not going to buy I would not waste 2 hours of my family vacation time on a discount or a freebie, lifes to short going around asking for hand outs ..... Nothing in life is free......
Excellent place to stay
This Resort is a top class resort. We loved it so much we bought into it. Very friendly personnel, wonderful pool and children activities.Great security we didnt have to worry about our children when we were there.Exceptional rooms. Ours that we stayed in was only 2 months out it was like a dream home. Very pleased and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and we will be returning.
We spent our entire 2 week holiday in block 1700 apartment 1741a. Two bedroom 2 bathrooms very light and spacious. The entire resort staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular the front desk and activities staff. The location of the resort is perfect for all the local attractions, including a baloon trip we went on, pickup point just a mile down the road. Although one feature that is of note, during our entire stop not once were we pestered to buy more timeshare or convert to a points system. The entire holiday had a very pleasent laid back atmoshpere.
A top of the line resort
I have stayed at this resort twice and both times our stay was excellent. The amenities at this resort are top of the line, the units are very well maintained and kept very clean, and the decor is wonderful. Of all the resorts I have stayed in in the orlando area, I would rate this one as number 2, and I have been travelling to the Orlando area since 1979. And have stayed in some really wonderful resorts
Silver City Resort Convenient to Disney
Silver Lake Resort is very handy to Disney - the property is next to Disney service buildings and borders on Animal Kingdom.
We stayed in a 1 bdrm condo for 10 days in March 2004. The only catch was that we had to (or so we were told) participate in a time share presentation for about 2 hours over breakfast in order to get a free upgrade. We figured out later that part was a bit of a scam, but the presentation was low-key and relatively painless.
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality, comfort, and quiet of the fully furnished condo. The kitchen was well equiped, the bathroom enormous, and both the queen bed and the pull-out sofa-bed were comfortable.
The charge for a shuttle to Disney world was $9 per person whereas parking at Disney was $7 per day. We choose to use a rental car for convenience and found that driving to the Disney parks was easy to do on the well-marked roads.
The cafe by the pool did not have a very good breakfast - too greasy.
The pool and the free high-speed internet cafe was great. There are no sidewalks leading to restaurants on the main road (192) and we found that the area was not pedestrian-friendly.

Well jet lag or the humidity is getting to us! we slept in for the morning but Scott being a QLDer is loving it.
Today we decided to take it easy and the kids decided that today would be the day that we became WALMART people! Nope I didn't let them dress up so they would be on uTube. LOL
We checked out the store nearest to Silver …
Day 1: Orlando here we come. Humidity was the first thing we noticed (except Scott he thought he was home in QLD).
