Orlando 12'17

12/7 Orlando, FL Sheraton's Vistana Resort is our RCI current timeshare exchange. This is one of the largest we have visited. There are many buildings multiple levels of condo units, 7 pools, 3 restaurants, general store, 3 recreation buildings, and many planned activities . Believe it is on 134 beautifully landscaped acres and has a great location. While it is not new, it is extremely well maintained. Jack knows every flea market in Orlando and Daytona Beach and makes his rounds. As many of ...

Average Room, Unknowledgeable Staff

from A TripAdvisor Member
I've never been to a hotel with such harsh rules. No one checks in before 4 pm and you better be out by 10 am. The registration staff were very unknowledgeable about everything - they were unsure of when the mountains closed - 3pm, 3:30 pm or was it 4 pm? As far as bringing up our bags when our room was finally ready - they forgot our laptop bag. And, it took two calls to remind them. They left us 2 vmails on our first day of skiing - 1 for a movie that began at 5 pm (who gets back to their room early enough for this if they've been skiing all day!!!) And, of course the message to meet with a rep about buying property here - right?!?! They never had an idea of which mountain had better snow coverage. The room was clean - we had a small 1 bed - no stove - kind of a downer. If you like a clean room - and don't think you'll ever use the staff for ANYTHING - then stay here, otherwise - STAY AWAY!!!

WE Love Mountain Vista

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed in the larger deluxe unit and really enjoyed are stay. First, the town of Avon is the perfect place for a ski vacation. You don't have the congestion, gazillion kids running around and high prices you'll find on the mountain. Plus you can walk to the grocery and liquor store to stock your kitchen for the week. The Sheraton staff is friendly and very responsive. We had plenty of towels and they changed them all mid week when they cleaned the room. We had a slight problem when the washer overflowed but maintance came immediately and they even asked if we wanted to change rooms (not necessary at all). The roof hot tubs provide a great view of the mountain and there are good restaurants in town if you don't want to venture far after a hard day on the mountain. We will definitately return.

One of the Best

We ejoyed a 2 week stay at this resort. When we arrived, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were pleased to find paper towels, dishwasher det. and anything needed to start the "housekeeping process." We loved the roof top whirlpools. The Avon location was in the center of many outdoor activities, nice shops and eateries. We loved walking on the path at the park right by the resort. Internet access was important and in our condo. We entertained guests for dinner. Everything we needed to prepare a nice meal was available. Including placemats and cloth napkins. Ownership of a condo at this resort, is a desired goal so we may return to view the breathtaking beauty of nature while also comfortably enjoying the resort's fine rooms and servics. An exceptional rating for this vacation condo!

Very nice room

from lalimama
The room was quite nice, with the one bedroom being roomy enough for three of us--although it is true that there isn't a ton of closet space and we did spend only two days there. Very well appointed, beautiful bathroom. Loved that the room had its own washer/dryer. Only downside was that the pool was being renovated, although we did get a pass to a swimming facility nearby (which we didn't use). Note: Avon/Beaver Creek is full of roundabouts, which struck fear in the hearts of us uninitiated. But otherwise, a great stay at a great price!

Wonderful Vacation, Beautiful Room!

This was our first stay here! We loved it. The town is lovely and the hotel is beautiful. Our room was (small one bedroom) was plenty large enough for two (with a lot of luggage.) The kitchen does not have a stove/oven, but otherwise is fully equipped. The gas grill on our balcony was used everyday of our stay (and sometimes twice a day!) The exercise room and spa were enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

More bad than good

We stayed here in a std. 1 bedroom Jan. 23-30, 2004. We had a partial kitchen (Highly recommend full kitchen). The unit is beautifully decorated but just barely (and I mean barely) big enough. I had to move the dining room table against the wall so we could walk into the living room. There was absolutely not enough drawer space to put a week's work of ski clothing, no bathroom drawers (delux unit has baskets under the sinks), and the nightstand light bulbs were burned out. Light bulbs should be a must on the clean up crew's list. So annoying. The jacuzzi did not work, and some pipes located somehwere in the building banged VERY loudly around midnight and 3:30 a.m. awaking us (& our neighbors we found out later) with a start. The last straw was we went to buy a video in their lobby and it was broken. We reported all this twice and just gave up. Then on the third day we were upgraded to a full kitchen unit (in which the light bulbs did not all work either). We would not stay there again.

Grill your eggs on the barbie!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at Sheraton Mountain Vista on Feb. 15-17. We had signed up at a Nuggets game to visit the tour and get a great rate on a room for a couple nights during the President's Day weekend. Overall, the place was very clean and presentable. We were welcomed on Sunday with a one hour happy hour of free drinks and appetizers, highly recommended.

Beware, if you attend happy hour either sit with an owner, or tell the sales people you are already an owner and they will leave you alone to enjoy the free food and drinks. The underground, heated parking was great, just difficult to find a spot if you visit during a peak time.

Skip the outside pools/hot tubs that are packed full of people and enjoy your in room (suits optional) private tub with jets. Tip, use the complimentary shampoo to make an extensive bubble bath. The room was very nice especially the bathroom which was incredibly spacious and had plenty of towels. The fireplace in the livingroom room was great as well as a tv in the livingroom and bedroom. If you have a room that faces the mountain, you get an excellent view of Beaver Creek. The kitchen in the smaller of the two units does not have a stove, so if you reserve that, don't bring eggs and expect to make an omlet in the morning! You would only have the option to microwave your eggs or throw them outside on the barbie!! The lights in the bedroom didn't work nor did the ceiling fan but we never called to have them fixed. The room does have a VCR in it but don't expect to just make use of the video library without slipping your credit card in for a $5 rental! Now to the dreaded time share presentation! The best thing about the presentation is the free $100 certificates you receive after completing the "90 minute tour." After 3 hours with SHAWNE (Horrible sales rep, ask for anyone else if you must tour), our night took a drastic turn for the better when we took our $100 certificates to the Beaver Creek Chop House. There is no better way to spend the $$. If you go, ask for Shelly (from Nebraska) to be your server. She knows how to give great service and make your night a lot of fun. The food also was second to none, order the filet with the cabernet sauce on the side it is DELICIOUS and will melt in your mouth! WARNING: when you go on your timeshare presentation, to make things simple, just tell them you meet all qualifications. If not you will be asked repeatedly how much you make, how much you save, to write down personal financial information, why you're not married or living together, who your family works for, and what you intend to name your first born child! The presentation is informative and deal actually makes sense if you travel a lot, but the sales person can make or break the deal. In this case Shawne broke the deal by acting extremely rude. Several times she said she didn't care if we became owners or not and twice just got up and walked away with no explanation! Finally, 3 hours later we got out of there with the $$ we were promised and never looked back!

Do Not stay Here!

from sallyColorado
What a terrible place! I stayed Feb 6-7 2004. Upon booking I was told an early check in of 2 pm was possible. Upon arrival, the fat man at the front desk laughed and said there is "no way" anyone gets an early check in before 4pm. What kind of a greeting is that? The elevators, halls and room reeked of cigarette smoke. I was told an iodizer would be brought to the room, that never happened. Neither the gas grill on the deck nor the deck outdoor light worked, upon turning down the bed for the night, there were hairs on the sheets!. I love kids, but each time I went to both the indoor, outdoor hot tubs and the fitness center, there were numerous unsupervised kids. There is not a kid's hot tub or pool which is rather annoying. There were only two towels in the bathroom for two people, and upon asking for towels for the hot tub, I was told that unit only has two towels per stay. The final straw was the harrassment by a time share sales lady named Shawne. Sheraton has lost a long time custimer. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!

Absolutely Beautiful Resort!

from A TripAdvisor Member
My family & I stayed at the Sheraton Mountain Vista for a week & were treated very warmly by the staff at this resort. They went out of their way to make us welcome. The accomodations were very top of the line!

The rooms were something right out of a decorators magazine. They have EVERYTHING you would ever need to stay for a week or longer. It is a vacation just to stay in the resort and never go out. They had Bingo during the week, 2 movie nights for the guests, showing new releases on tape, 1 for the kids and they also offer free game rentals for the week. 2 hot tubs, swimming and a work out room. Be sure and rent the FULL kitchen units so you will be able to cook in a fully furnished kitchen. It even has a washer/dryer in the unit. That helped us pack less! We ended up buying a 2 bdrm lockoff unit for the winter at the resort because we loved it so much!!! We can ski in the winter & have a place to stay that is fully furnished and BEAUTIFUL in a absolutely beautiful area!

Sheraton MV in Avon is Terrific

from A TripAdvisor Member
Sheraton Mountain Vista is perfect for ski trips with friends or family. Spacious, comfortable suites make you fell like a guest in someone's home vs. hotel. Plus it's convenintly located between BeaverCreek and Vail for world-class skiing, shopping and dining. The town of Avon is quaint and affordable. Grocery store and Walmart within walking distance plus salons, ski rental, library and fitness center are all right outside your door.
