    A beautiful hotel with all the mod cons and service you can expect from a Hilton. Large gardens and awesome water sports activities in the crystal clear lagoon. Nicely appointed rooms with huge bathrooms.

    The Hilton is a classy joint, although typically my hotel choice as a tourist would not be a large chain. I did a fair amount of research, and chose it because it was very highly regarded by past guests.     This would be a good time to mention how friendly the people are in French Polynesia. Practically everyone you meet says "Ia Orana" (sounds like your honor, with the r slurring into the h) which means “hello.” They aren't pushy sales people, either and say “Maruru (mah-roo-roo), which means thank-you, even if you leave their shop empty handed.
