Average Hotel with an Amazing Location

    Reviewed May 21, 2015

Sharaton Iguazu Resort and Spa is an average (although comfortable) hotel with dated rooms, unhurried service and painfully slow wi-fi...But! It has one thing that trumps it all - LOCATION...It is the ONLY hotel inside the Iguazu National Park, and you can see Iguazu Falls from your balcony or from the restaurant terrace... The premises of the hotel are nice, and being inside the park with walking proximity to the Falls is very convenient... Buffet breakfast at the hotel is plentiful and even includes sparkling wine for making your own Mimosas...Overall, I have no major complaints...As I said - the location trumps it all...it can't be beat...and even though I might not have chosen this hotel if it were located elsewhere, I would still choose to stay here if I were to return to the Iguazu National Park in Argentina...

    Unbeatable location for Iguazu Falls

Don't think there is a better location than this Sheraton hotel for the Iguazu Falls on the Argentina side. Hotel is clean and comfortable, though simple and not luxurious. Staff is friendly.

    Pricey, but worth it

The Iguazu Sheraton is expensive and a bit dated, but the convenience can't be matched. Book with SPG points if you have the chance, as it is a much better value.

We loved our stay at Iguazu falls park and this was in large part due to the Sheraton. Staying in the park was wonderful, and having a room with a view of the falls surely enhanced the experience. But the facilities and staff were great too.

It's been a great couple of days seeing this awesome wonder of nature. Parks on both sides, Argentina and Brazil, have great networks of paths and walkways offering phenomenal views. Just when I thought I had seen the best, another 15 minutes walking would show a totally different section and drop my jaw. Took LOTS of pics. It is very hot; not so …

After a moonlit and starry night, we awoke to a clear but high cloud day. After a good breakfast, we met our guide Maria and headed out by foot. She was delightful, knowledgeable with a bright personality and great English.

We took the high track first to see the falls from above. It is difficult to describe how beautiful and powerful …

We got up 15 minutes past the alarm. Had breakfast which started at 6:30. The buffet breakfast (included in the hotel fee) was quite adequate. Then we met Francis at 8am. Today Francis' wife was the driver. She did not speak English so we could not really communicate with her. They already have a 4-year-old daughter, Sofia, and they're expecting …

    "Poor Niagara!" -- Eleanor Roosevelt

Upon seeing Iguazu Falls for the first time, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt supposedly exclaimed, "Poor Niagara!"

Iguazu (EE-gwa--SOO) is often compared to Victoria Falls in Southern Africa. Iguazu is the widest, at 1.25 miles. Mist rises 100-500 ft. from Iguazu's Devil's Throat. The Falls offer spectacular vistas and sturdy walkways. At one …

Day 11 -- November 1 Breakfast was in the hotel (I don't believe I mentioned we stayed at the Caesar Park on Posadas, which is probably 4-star based on facilities and location). Then a quick dart for several of us to the high-end mall across the street for a Starbucks. I collect their location mugs and was anxious to get one for Buenos Aires or …
