Started my advanced course today, for that you have to do 5 specialty dives. So far I've done peak performance buoyancy, where we went to a park 14m down with a load of plastic hoops which you had to get through! For me Dahab was a time to just relax, read a couple of books from the travellers library, sleep and relax a bit more! The hotel is built on terraces down the side of the hill with massive mountain outcrops behind us and a view across the Gulf of Acqaba to Saudi Arabia in front of us. ... whilst you're here! And it's presumably why there is a huge open area in the centre of Dahab, leading from the mountains to the sea, with a footbridge over it joining the two sides of the town.
In the wadis, the very flat valley areas where flood waters rush through from the mountains, odd spindly trees grow. This seems to be the only vegetation that survives here ...
