... that not eating at a hawker stall is like missing the louvre in France and I can definitely believe this. The stalls were stood alongside each other with plastic chairs and tables in the middle and covered with a large canapé. The main attraction here for us was the electric atmosphere and sighting all the locals getting their fix of Malay Laska which is a dish infamous in Penang. There were tea lights lighting up the night sky above us and 90's RnB was being played in the ...

... after Maria left at lunchtime to go back to work in Koh Phangan, I went to see Fort Cornwallis and some of the big architectural buildings in the town, before chilling in the hostel with a few other people staying there.

The first services were held in the Cornwallis Fort in 1799 but the new church building ...

We were very relieved--until we saw our room. It was a dump. The bed had no flat sheet, and the blanket was maybe three feet long and two feet wide, with a big hole in it. The bathroom felt filthy, and the door didn't shut. Nor did the windows, which meant that we spent all night getting bitten by mosquitoes, and were awakened at 6 a.m. by the construction just outside our room. Someone's old flip-flops were ...

we decide that we will have an easy morning by the pool having a swim after brekkie and then showering and heading off about 1pm for the Spice farm, Butterfly farm and Batu Ferringhi.
This will put us back late at night so we have the late start.
We leave our hotel at 12.30 and walk to the bus station but decide we better have lunch first.
So we walk into Prangin mall and visit the little eating place that daughter and I went to on shopping day.
