Vietnam Part 1

... br>Woke up about 11 and find that my dorm that was empty is now empty but people have been in there beds and got out again. Met a stragler called Laurent a frenchman who's english is much better than mine and went for breakfast.

Went out with said frenchman an aussie called lleyton and a Swedish bloke who I called Henrik as I could not remember his real name. Won $60 off a local at pool and I hope that means his family does not eat for a week as he was a massive knob.

I also regretted that our group's hostility towards a rowdy bunch of Chinese (the Chinese are loud - there are so many of them that they have to compete) and I remonstrated gently trying to say that we need to leave our Brit. value judgements at home when we travel: (and that goes for our concept of queueing too, BTW). As the Chinese do not travel much outside their own country they might be ...

First impressions...

I can officially say I have travelled for 28 hours straight, been stopped by Hong Kong airport security during a check and had something confiscated, seen nuns selected for random screenings, and arrived safely in Vietnam.

There are certain things you must do in a country

And this was one of them:

Visiting the Cu Chi tunnels outside Saigon. These tunnels were used during the Vietnam-US war by the guerrilla fighters and the Vietnamese villagers. However, the tunnels were first constructed during the French occupation. During the Vietnam-US war the local villagers were forced underground as the area was a free firer zone for the US air force, so they would drop any unused ...
