So this morning we started packing and discovered that our old "bubble", the storage carrier that goes on top of the van is done. Once packed it wouldn't close.
So Paula and I dashed off to Sears and at 4:30 this afternoon we finally cast off. It ...

1st trip to Florida
Great place to stay.
This was our 1st trip to Florida. We'll go back and stay at the Sea Wake again on the next trip. Everyone was there was great.
Thank You Sea Wake for making our honeymoon a such a great trip after 18 years of marriage.
Take The Family and Stay For A While!
We have been staying at the Sea Wake 13 times over the last 10 years, Its a great place to take your family or a small business group. The Sea Wake has all of the amenities, its close to every thing and its so nice and quiet at night..and the rooms are really comfortable..and the staff..there is no better.J. Elliott
This was our first vacation w/ our 8 month old son. Best Western Sea Wake was absolutely the perfect hotel--fridge & microwave were the only amenities we needed & we got so much more here. The pool was great w/ plenty of lounge furniture, we enjoyed brunch outside everyday at Lenora's and the staff was very accomodating. Also, our hotel room was beautiful, "beachy" & clean. We'll be back!!!!!
Nice Place to Stay
This was a great little hotel near the south end of the Clearwater Beach area. The staff was friendly and helpful. They even took care of getting us a 150 refund from Expedia because they did not book correctly for a Gulfview room. They helped anyway they could and were very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The cleaning service did a great job of supplying soaps and what not while keeping the rooms clean. The beach and pool area are very nice. The beach area was a little crowded over the weekend with boats docked on the beach but during the weekday, the private beach area was peaceful and relaxing. Plus you are only a short trolley ride or car drive to Pier 60, or the Clearwater eateries. Would come back to the hotel next time when in Clearwater, FL. Great job Sea Wake!
We'll be back!
We will definitely go back to this motel! It is very clean (with the exception of the cigarette smoke smell in the lobby, which comes from the bar area) The maids changed the beds daily and the rooms were always cleaned extremely well. The staff are helpful, friendly, and courteous, and will go out of their way to help you with anything. Get a gulf view room so that you can watch the dolphins and the sunsets from your balcony! Staying at this motel made our holdiay that much better. Thank you to everyone who works there!
Made Our Trip!
Our room was bright, fashionable and very clean. We had a private balcony overlooking the beach that had a wonderfully peaceful view. The beach area is clean and comfortable. At the price, a complimentery breakfast was expected, but not offered. I do recommend this hotel.
Great Hotel on the Beach in Clearwater
The Sea Wake Inn has clean, comfortable rooms which were recently renovated. The extra dollars for the beach view (as opposed to the street view) was well worth it. The balconies have all the day time sun, which may be too hot for summer months but in January it was fine. The pool was heated and our girls spent much of their time in it. The restaurant had a good breakfast but did not serve supper. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and our room was cleaned daily, the beds stripped down to the mattress and re-sheeted. The bathroom was always clean and there was no smell of cleaners. We asked for some extra pillows and towels and they were promptly delivered to our room. There are lots of restaurants to eat at but I would recommend the Italian restaurant across the street and also the Post Corner restaurant down the street (across from the Adam's Mark Hotel). I'd have no problem recommeding the Best Western Sea Wake Inn to anyone travelling and looking for a moderately priced, clean hotel on the beach in Clearwater. We stayed at Adam's Mark Hotel on a previous trip and the rooms were much the same but the price was much higher. Also, if you stop at the tourist bureau on the Courtney Campbell Causeway they will give you their preferred rate, which was $20. cheaper than the posted room rate (just mention it to the front desk clerk at the hotel when you check in). The sandy beach has a wooden deck and patio furniture for those who don't want to get full of sand and beach combing will turn up shells and rocks. If you are lucky you will see dolphins in the ocean.
Caution: Will try to 2x or 3x bill you!!
We had an awful experience at this hotel! They tried to double and triple bill our credit card, saying it wasn't there fault, but the credit cards. At the end of our stay, they would not take off unauthorized charges & we had to contact the main headquarters of Best Western. Exercise Caution!!! This hotel has been remodeled, but they may be experiencing financial troubles. Expecially seniors, be careful. You might not notice the "extra" charges on your credit card before it's too late!!! Our advice to travelers: Find somewhere else pleasant to stay in Clearwater Beach.
A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!
I cannot speak too highly of this hotel. The perfect place to stay for a wonderful holiday. Situated right on the beach, with ample parking facilities.
The rooms are maintained to a high standard and views from the sea view rooms are spectacular.
However, highest praise must go to the wonderful Front Desk staff who are tremendous - so polite and helpful, particularly Linda, front desk manager, who goes out of her way to ensure guests have a wonderful stay.
Leonora's restaurant is an added bonus where great meals are served by great staff.
We cannot wait to go back again.
Cool little hotel
doesnt look like much, but this small, cozy, family owned hotel is in a great location on clearwater beach, has a nice private beach, and is within walking distance of most activities on the beach. Be sure to get a room on the back side unless you want to watch the traffic, and they have some cozy corner rooms with no balconies. We had a fridge, which came in very handy. Just dont eat there, lol! Try the italian restaurant across the street...
