then we chek in to Kwest Hotel. Standard queen for RM55, very budget hotel. Then the love sparks...
... have had rain most afternoons although the mornings are usually bright.....Temp is about 30* but cools off nice in the evenings - humidity is at 90% (ok norm).
We haven't found it a problem watching any Premiership football while we have been out here most towns show it and the only downside is the time we have to stay up until. This place was no exception we had a great TV room and manager was a Liverpool supported so ...
I made my way up to Kuala Lumpur - sort of. I cycled from Port Dickson, on the western coast, to Klang, 35 km west of Kuala Lumpur. The landscape was varied. Mostly flat. I avoided the major roads as much as I could. Where I was cycling on unbeaten paths I saw lots of old fashioned Malay houses and fishing villages. Those Malay houses are built in such a ways that keeps humidity away as much as possible. The whole house is elevated above ...
Pangkor Island, Malaysia ryota... on the beach near the hotel, which wasn't superb. But the following day we went for a walk around the Island, but not so much. We discovered another little Island adjacent to the one we were staying at, and at the right time of the day, as the tide is low, you can walk across to it. So we did. It was quite al right and the sea was much more clearer than the day before. There was hardly anything at the bottom of the sea, except ...
Pangkor Island, Malaysia samira_stevePangkor upon arrival you could instantly tell was a tourist town and also soon discovered expensive. We soon realised why it was so expensive it was the Muslim public holidays and the island was a holiday hot spot for Malaysians. The beach was ...
Pangkor, Malaysia leithandjim... Later in Penang: It seems I have too much time on my hands the last couple of days to write my entries so I apologise if it all sounds a little mundane! There's a Starbucks next to our palace of a hotel (my aunt swung us a great deal - 3 nights for the price of less than 1 night!) and opposite is a drive in bank! Only 36 hours ago I was wallowing around dirty streets and now I'm somewhere that's like another planet! We're staying in a 36 storey ...
Penang, Malaysia tiggerbird... welcome each other in to their homes and serve them copious amounts of food, drink, and sweets. Along the way to our favourite restaurant, TJs, we thought we'd check out another restaurant's menu, thinking that maybe we shouldn't be so boring and eat elsewhere for a change. They had a special set menu to celebrate Ramadan. Unfortunately, it was out of our budget range. We were still happy, knowing that we'd have a great meal at TJs. Not only is this place the cheapest ...
Pulau Pangkor, Malaysia the_tardifs... space. As with the ferries in Samui this is the main commercial lifeline to the island and large stacks of boxed tins and cases of cigarettes line the sides and central isles. It takes only 20 minutes to get to the island and we take a taxi to our bungalow accommodation. It is pleasantly positioned, clean and self contained and is just what we need after the day we've had. Eat coconut chicken at the little restaurant across the road before crashing out exhausted. What a day!
Pangkor, Malaysia sarahmark... and several times I nearly flew out of my seat. But we arrived in Lumut safely and just in time for the ferry out to the island. We stayed at a place called "mini-camp" -- only M$4.20 per night per person. The huts were A-frame -- just wide enough for two people and their stuff to fit comfortably. Ours was two-story: Pat and I took the loft and the boys had the lower half. We could even stand up in the center of ours. When we opened the shutter doors, we got quite a nice breeze flowing ...
