Nice Room but Poor management
We were pretty dissapointed with our experience at sea gardens. Upon checking in we were informed that we would have to change rooms mid week. We were a little annoyed with that, being that we had booked the trip in advance, they told us it was a timeshare and there was nothing they could do about it. They did say we would be on the same floor two rooms away, so I figured I would get up the morning of the move to switch everything over. When we got home at 11pm the night before we were supposed to move we found a note on the door stating we had to be out of the room by 10am or face a fee, and better yet, they then informed us that our new room wouldn't be ready until after 2pm. That's 4 hours with no room!!! When I called the front desk and said this was unacceptable, again I was told there was nothing they could do. The woman said they would be able to hold our belongings. I certainly did not want to leave allof our belongings with these people. Now we had to pack all of our things into the car, and take time out of our vacation to come back in the middle of our day to switch rooms. Extremely unprofessional and poorly managed. Our only saving grace was that our room was pretty nice with a washer and dryer in the room and the room was spacious and attractive. The staff was very unsympathetic to our dilemma, very unfortunate. The resort is very family oriented, lots of kids running around, all of the pools were too warm, except the one by the ocean.
One of the best resorts in South Florida
My family and I always find it a terrific joy to vacation in South Florida, and have stayed at various resorts in the last few years. However, Sea Gardens ranks among one of the top resorts I have ever stayed at. It is absolutely beautiful and a perfect location; You can go to Ft. Lauderdale or the Keys at your leisure. It has always been a beautiful getaway, with courteous and professional staff and clean rooms. I would highly recommend a trip to Sea Gardens!!!
Had a great time!
My husband and I stayed at the Sea Gardens 4/18/04-4/24/04 and had a great time. We had booked it through a time share exchange and were not sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. We were in one of the studio units in the "north waterfalls" building. It was small (we knew this was what we were getting) but was very clean, tidy and well equipped. We thought the grounds were lovely, and we had a lot of fun at the Tiki Bar (frozen cocktails, trivia contests, hula demonstrations, lunch a time or two). The activities staff were friendly and attentive (but not obnoxious, and do not pressure people to participate in anything). Jennifer in particular was very friendly, and seemed to know everyone's name staying at the resort! Jose, the scuba instruuctor, was very helpul, setting my husband up for a scuba dive, and allowing us to join a snorkel outing last minute. We met lots of nice people from all over the country...couples and families of all ages. The pools and jacuzzis were clean and well-maintained, and the beach was just gorgeous. We would definitely go back!
Sea Gardens, Pompano Beach, Florida
Sea Gardens property is very average in facilities and amenities. Rooms located on the beach also have to contend with loud traffic noise.
Enjoyed our stay!
September 28th,2003-Enjoyed our stay at The Sea Gardens Resort. Enjoyed the very tidy and clean grounds and pools. The access to the beach was ok , if you have children you should ask for a room on the beach side so you don't have to cross the street. For me and my husband this was no big deal but if I had little ones I would be concern. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was big and plenty of amenities.
Enjoyed the Aruba restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale its on the beach and the food was good and reasonable.
Great get away
My wife & I visited Sea Gardens for the first time and we had a great time. The staff was great and the recreational facilities were fantastic. The have 4 great pools and two hot tubs. We were up graded from a one bedroom to a two bedroom with a hot tub. We travel to Pompano beach at least once a year and this was the best so far. You are only 45 minutes to 1 hr to South Beach.
It easy to find your way around Pompano and Ft Lauderdale. Great shops, food, and beaches.
Home Away from Home
I have spent several weeks a year at the Sea Gardens Beach & Tennis Resort in Pompano Beach, FL, and find it hard to believe that anyone would not thoroughly enjoy the experience of vacationing there. I personally have always been made to feel at home. The Staff have always been friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautifully maintained.
Over the years, I have stayed in practically all of the buildings, from studios to 2-BR condos, and have never been unhappy with any of them. Upon check-in, if I see a light bulb that has burned out or anything else wrong with the unit (which generally is not the case), an immediate call to Maintenance takes care of the problem usually within the hour).
My husband and I have exchanged timeshares to many resorts and just recently spent 2 weeks this past Jan. in Hawaii. It was great; however, my favorite place to vacation has always been the Sea Gardens Beach & Tennis Resort as they have numerous amenities a lot of other resorts do not have. To me, it seems the Staff's main purpose is to make you feel like you're on vacation and will go out of their way to help you in any way they can.
Poor Service and inadequate room
My husband, nephew, and I visited the Sea Gardens and found the facilities only adequate to poor. The staff were unhelpful with some staff members downright rude. The rooms near the ocean are converted hotel rooms. The room smelled musty and the air conditioner did not work most of the time. Would not stay here again and was very disappointed with our stay. Furthermore, the staff seemed disinterested in our complaints.
J.c.w. loves the sea gardens
my son, his wife and myself have visited the sea gardens for 4 years in a row always in aug. and yes this year as well. we have always stayed in the ocean palms, which i find has everything i am looking for and want in a place to lay my head. very roomy, very clean and has all the modern appliances and stero equipment as well. the ocean is across the street, the help is friendly, they has acitivites for you to do off of the property, and will arrange the events for you. quite & peaceful at night. their main super market is about 4 miles away a beautiful clean stocked market. you are close to highway 95. the resort location is midway from miami and palm beach. 15 mins. from the ft. lauderdale airport. we go to key west every year for several days before we check into the resort. this year we will stay 4 days in the bahamas, and just drive down to the keys and spend a day! if could afford it i would retire on the beach in pompano. one of my favorite resturant is the aruba about 5 miles away the resturant is located right on the beach!
excellent food. sawgrass mall and festival flea market OH what good deals. what can i say, i just love the place and what it has to offer!
Nice:very family friendly
Recently visited with husband and 2 children. Room was in the "Ocean Palms" building which has view of ocean but overlooks tops of other buildings in resort area. Room was very nice, clean, and good access to pools, etc. Resort itself was family oriented with nice, planned activities, warm, clean pools, and beach access despite having to cross A1A. Some things like doors that did not lock concerned me (Ocean Palm main entrances were supposed to be key access, but were all opened all the time), but overall nice. Extremely friendly staff, but Game room run down and dirty. Would recommend overall b/c of multiple pools, cleanliness of room, and good activities, staff. Would not have wanted to stay in some of the other parts of the resort however as they are simply converted motel rooms that open to parking lots.
