Last night was A's birthday, part of the reason for this whole trip. We partied in true Kenya style, dancing on the beach with the local community at a beach shack down the shore from the resort. I loved watching the kids move with amazing rhythm and style, and gradually winning over their trust until we were dancing together. A pumping soundtrack jumped from Kenyan hip hop to Beyoncé to Bollywood, and the dancing was just as varied! Drummers ...

... adapted to the situation and in order to make some money out of the tourists you have to know Italian since the Italians do not want to speak English or Swahili.

... which juts out beyond the room into the great nothing outside the tower building itself. Encased in rather delicate ironwork so one would find it hard to roll out of bed and catapult oneself to the ground, I agree, but I don't think it would prove a restful night. There were two German girls staying with Nani, and they were sleeping in the tower in this flying bed and in true spirit found it wonderful. Not being great with heights myself, I would be happy to ...

A massage like no other I have ever had!

... a massage by one to the trainers, Zoe. I had been given a hint or two that it was extremely painful and even big boys apparently cry. Mmmmm? I'm almost ashamed to say what actually happened. Suffice to say, there wasn't a monkey on the continent that didn't hear me! Zoe did prepare me by saying that I should do my breathing as if I was in labour. I had quadruplets. Now you can imagine the pain I was in. I was breathing so heavily ...
