Surprisingly hard day. 19 miles is about average and I thought it would be just down the valley. But the route kept going up the side of the valley, then along for half a mile or so before dropping back down. As compensation there was not a cloud all day. INTERLAKEN/LAUTERBRUNNEN: The mountainous country of Switzerland brings civil engineering to new heights. (If you could flatten Switzerland out, it would likely be the size of California.
