Phuket - Day 1

A travel blog entry by mgilfillan

We finally arrived in paradise! After 24 hours of travel to get here and not knowing quite what to expect, I can honestly say that it was well worth it! We got checked into our villa and then went for a pedicure down the street. Had fun with the local ladies who were laughing hysterically at Jose. He kept startling them and it was very funny. As we …

Beach Day and massages!

A travel blog entry by bhannah

We ate breakfast at the hotel (yellow curry!!!!!!) And then went to the beach at Kata Noi. We figured out how easy it is to rent a chair with shade and kicked ourselves for not figuring out sooner. We hung out there for 4 hours lounging and swimming, and then kissed the beach goodbye and booked ourselves tickets for the ladyboy show at the Phuket …

Went on a Koh Phi Phi daytrip by speedboat with simba tours. Just gorgeous. We left at 5:30 am, and were cruising on a fun bumpy speedbaot ride by 6:30 am. The first stop after one hour was Ao Maya made famous by the movie The Beach. It was beautiful, like a more tropical ha long bay. Next was the pileh lagoon, which was AWESOME. It was a lagoon …

Hat Kata Noi

We ate breakfast, although today was pork with green curry instead of massamun :(. We walked to Hat Kata Noi, which is seperated from Hat Kata by a rocky headland. It doesn't look that far, but you have to go over giant hills to get there, so we were shocked by how tired we got. There were no clouds, so it was very hot. On the way to the beach, got …

I wouldn't think of curry as a breakfast food, but it was great. We caught a shuttle to Hat Kata, which is a really nice, albeit moderately crowded beach. There was a good mix of sun and cloud cover, so I could …

The street is nothing special but as soon as you walk through that gateway, you are in a whole new world full of trees and plants and all of Mother Nature's love! The most beautiful rooms and breakfast! What a brilliant place!
