We set sail at 7 pm last night in very cloudy (smog) conditions. Had a lovely dinner at a new table on the upper level of the restaurant and met a nice couple from Melbourne. They are travelling Singapore to Hong Kong as are most people we have met except the round the worlders (one couple from Caloundra would you believe) who then fly back home from UK. Early night ...

... a taxi, we eventually got back to the apartment. And now we all have one big problem....We're sun burnt, it was windy today we hadn't felt it and the sun cream Seemingly wasn't enough because we all are red raw and feeling sorry for ourselves. Early night today, des and Cian went for a stroll but we stayed in to type up. That's it for now, tomorrow we'll be in a night bus for god knows how many hours so you'll hear from us in 2 days. Night all, Love Clíona, Miriam, Des & Cian ...

... for the ticket machine and Clíona, Des and Cian would stand in the queue's for the cashier desks. Yay, Ticket machine had English instructions! Just one problem, we don't have Chinese ID cards... (They want to see your passport for everything here) Back to the cashier queue we went. Haha! Got our tickets fine and time to go through security now, we are not sure if they really checked our bags as you aren't allowed to have liquids with you, ...

Day 5, haikou and sanya!

A travel blog entry by cliona on Feb 01, 2015

... friendly! We passed paddy fields, palm trees, forest covered hills and the dirty smog seemed to gradually disappear.
Sanya! Blue skies! Sun! Warmth! Yay! There was a queue for the taxi stand, so got our sunglasses out and queued up, people standing next to us couldn't stop staring, made feel Des like we were superstars!2 other girls were very amazed by Cliona's piercings, one was trying to explain to the other that you could also have a tongue ...
